Description

ICA connections fail to connect using Session Reliability.

And/Or

Citrix XTE Server service fails to start manually from the Services console with error code 1.

Resolution

Complete the following steps to start Citrix XTE Server service without error:

  1. Open C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\XTE\conf.

  2. Rename the httpd.conf file to httpdold.conf.

  1. Restart the server to force the creation of a new httpd.conf file.

  2. After the server restarts, a new httpd.conf file is created and the Citrix XTE Server service starts.

  1. If the Cit​rix XTE Server service still fails to start, the new httpd.conf file that was created is also corrupted. Copy the httpd.conf file from a working server into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\XTE\conf directory and start the Citrix XTE Server service manually.


Problem Cause

The contents of the http​d.conf file in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\XTE\conf directory is either corrupted or missing information though the ServerRoot path is correct (ServerRoot "C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\XTE").
