Description

When changes are made to the worker group, the applications published for the worker group display the following error:
“You have not been granted access to this published application”

Requirements

  • Worker group

  • Applications published to the worker group

  • XenApp 6.5

  • XenApp 6

Resolution

  • Install the hotfix in CTX138369 - Hotfix XA650R01W2K8R2X64103 - For Citrix XenApp 6.5 for Windows Server 2008 R2 - English to fix this issue.
  • Complete the following steps to troubleshoot the error:
    1. Publish an application on server A and this server must be a member of worker group WA.

    2. Publish an Application for WA and launch it. It must launch successfully.

    3. Edit the worker group WA and add server B to it and remove server A.

    4. Launch any application published for WA and this time the application launch fails with error:

“You have not been granted access to this published application”
    1. If the application published on WA is disabled and enabled then it would launch successfully.

    2. After the change is made in the worker group properties, run a gpupdate /force on ZDC and server which launches the application successfully.

    3. As soon as the change is made in the worker group properties if users logoff and logon, and the WA properties are refreshed, the application must launch successfully.

    4. As soon as the change is made in the worker group properties wait for a minute and launch the application. It must launch successfully.

Note: Steps 5, 6, and 7 are the possible workarounds to avoid the error “You have not been granted access to this published application”. If administrators do not agree to Steps 5, 6, and 7 then implement Step 8.

Problem Cause

Change Worker Group assignments
When an application is assigned to a worker group and the membership of that worker group is changed the following symptoms are visible:

  • Newly added servers to the Worker Group are not used for opening the application.
  • The application fails to open, displaying the following error message to the user:
    Connection Error:
You have not been granted access to this published application
    OK
Note: Disabling and re-enabling all applications would fix the error.
