HDX MediaStream

  1. When browsing web sites with Flash content, the URL's are added to the dynamic blacklist while using Version 18 of Adobe Flash Player.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.500][#LC3070]

HDX MediaStream Windows Media Redirection

  1. Pressing Replay or dragging Windows Media Player off the screen and then back on the screen causes a black rectangle to appear.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.500][#LC0635]

Printing

  1. When Receiver for Windows 3.x and the HP P1102w USB Printer is installed on the user device, when users select File > Print, the print job appears, starts spooling and then disappears. Also, the hard copy does not print. This occurs when the following policies are enabled on the user device:

    • "Auto-create client printers" set to "Auto-create all client printers"
    • "Client-redirected printers" set to "Allowed"
    • "Universal print driver usage" set to "Use universal printing only"

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.500][#LA5008]

Server/Farm Administration

  1. If a user device is connected to a VDA and if "USB Root Hub" setting is disabled on the user device , the setting cannot be enabled again and the following error message appears in the property of "USB Root Hub":

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)"

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.500][#LC0367]

  2. When a certificate is created, renewed, or updated on Merchandising Server, the following dialog box appears repeatedly for Receiver for Windows 3.4:

    "Certificate Trust Issue
The Citrix Receiver server [servername] has changed its security certificate from the one you have been using previously. Are you prepared to trust the following certificate? If in doubt, consult your help desk."

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.500][#LC1622]

Session/Connection

  1. When importing the Client Selective Trust registry key file as described in Knowledge Center article CTX133565 and configuring trusted zones, if the Desktop Viewer is enabled in the Web Interface or in StoreFront, the registry key might not work. If the Web Interface or StoreFront URL is configured as a trusted zone in the browser, a file security prompt incorrectly appears when accessing the Client Drive Mapping (CDM) directory.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.500][#LC0904]

  2. The Receiver for Windows might stop sending network packets because of a program deadlock. As a result, the following can occur:

    • The session might not be established.
    • The Citrix HDX Engine might become unresponsive if the desktop screen resolution changes.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.500][#LC2105]

User Experience

  1. Attempts to move a seamless application window from the local Windows taskbar location can fail if the taskbar is set to "Auto-hide."

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.500][#LC0561]

  2. Occasionally, screen updates can be slow because of low bandwidth.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.500][#LC2416]

Receiver for Windows 3.4 Cumulative Update 4 (3.4.400)

Compared to: Citrix Receiver for Windows 3.4 Cumulative Update 3

Receiver for Windows 3.4 Cumulative Update 4 (3.4.400) contains all fixes that were included in Receiver for Windows 3.4 Cumulative Updates 1 , 2, and 3 (3.4.100, 3.4.200, and 3.4.300), Receiver for Windows 3.4, 3.3, 3.2, 3.0, and the following, new fixes (no fixes were included in Receiver for Windows 3.1):

Content RedirectionSession/Connection
HDX MediaStreamSystem Exceptions
Logon/AuthenticationUser Experience
PrintingUser Interface
Server/Farm Administration

Content Redirection

  1. When accessing the URLs within a published application, the server-to-client content redirection might not work and can open a browser on the server and fails to open on the client.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0150]

  2. This is an enhancement, previously available in Version 12.x of the online plug-in, that allows you to enable custom protocols for server to client content redirection.

The following protocols are supported and enabled by default:

    • HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol)
    • HTTPS (Secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol)
    • RTSP (Real Player and QuickTime)
    • RTSPU (Real Player and QuickTime)
    • PNM (Legacy Real Player)
    • MMS (Microsoft Media Format)

To add support for additional protocols:

    1. Deploy this version of Receiver.
    2. Import the ICA Client policy settings using one of the methods described in eDocs at http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/receiver-windows-enterprise-3x/ica-import-icaclient-template-v2.html.
    3. Under Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Classic Administrative Templates (ADM) > Citrix Components > Citrix Receiver , edit the SFTA Extra URL protocols setting for the protocols for which you want to enable redirection. Use the following format and separate protocols by a semicolon (;):
      protocol1://;protocol2://

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA0803]

  3. Occasionally, accessing a web site that contains a "HEAD" request in the URL header instead of a "GET" request might fail if the web server fails to accept the HEAD request. As a result, server-to-client content redirection does not work.

To enable the fix, create the following registry key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER_\Software\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine
    Name: SpecificSites
    Type: REG_MULTI_SZ
Value: web site names (one web site per line)

Note: A GET request rather than HEAD request is sent to any web site specified in the value. The web site name is case sensitive and wildcard '*' is supported. For example, if "*.mycompany.com" is specified in this registry value, users can access both www.mycompany.com and support.mycompany.com which are the "specific" web sites.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0326]

  4. This fix is an enhancement to Fix #LA0803. On servers with XenApp 6 Hotfix Rollup Pack 2 and XenApp 6.5 Hotfix Rollup Pack 3 installed, when accessing custom URLs within a published application, server-to-client content redirection does not work and a web browser opens on the server instead of the user device.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0428]

HDX MediaStream

  1. When playing a video in Windows Media Player within a Receiver session, a second black window opens with the title "Citrix HDX Movie Window." Closing this secondary window does not have an effect on the video that is playing.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0818]

Logon/Authentication

  1. Domain pass-through authentication can fail intermittently for Citrix Receiver for Windows 3.4 with Cumulative Update 3.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0865]

  2. When a user logs on by using the Universal Principal Name (UPN) format and the account is disconnected from the domain, the single sign-on process (SSONSvr.exe) prompts users for a password instead of providing the credentials automatically in Receiver for Windows.

To enable the fix, create the following registry key:

    • On 32-bit Windows:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Citrix\ICA Client\SSON
      Name: UPNConversion
      Type: REG_SZ
      Value: True
    • On 64-bit Windows:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Citrix\ICA Client\SSON
      Name: UPNConversion
      Type: REG_SZ
      Value: True

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA5334]

Printing

  1. Automatic creation of printers is limited to 100 per session.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0031]

Server/Farm Administration

  1. This fix disables the SSLv3 protocol due to the POODLE security issue described in CVE-2014-3566. This version of the Receiver supports TLS 1.0 only. For more information, see Knowledge Center article CTX200238.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC1401]

Session/Connection

  1. Session sharing might fail if the XenApp base installation was performed in a non-default location, such as on the server's D: drive.

To enable the fix, create the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Citrix\ICA Client\Passthru
    Name: IMAInstallationPath
    Type: REG_SZ
Value: Customized IMA installation path (default installation path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\system32\Citrix\IMA)

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA5780]

  2. When attempting to transfer a file by using a twain device with any third-party application, the application might exit unexpectedly.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0369]

  3. Typing in published instances of Microsoft Outlook can cause the session to disconnect at random.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0323]

  4. COM port redirection can fail with the following error message:

    "Error in OpenPort: Comport 'COM4'"

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0434]

  5. When attempting to open a Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel 2003 file from a client drive mapped into the session with read-only access, the file might fail to open.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA4198]

  6. In pass-through client sessions, if multiple published application shortcuts are present in the Startup folder of a published desktop, the top-most published application in the startup folder might launch multiple times while other applications in the Startup folder fail to launch.

Note: The issue occurs only in scenarios where the published desktop and the applications are hosted on the same XenApp server.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA5118]

  7. When XenApp is configured for either Direct or NTLM authentication, proxy connections to external web sites might fail from Citrix Receiver for Windows Version 3.x.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA4847]

  8. This fix reworks Fix #LA1257, which fails to fully address the following issue:

With the Desktop Viewer disabled, a full-screen client session does not adjust the screen resolution of the Virtual Desktop Agent in response to a change in screen resolution on the endpoint.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA4000]

  9. When connectivity to a XenDesktop session is lost for an amount of time that exceeds the Session Reliability timeout, DesktopViewer remains onscreen indefinitely. The session itself disappears, as expected, from the Connection Center after the Session Reliability timeout.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA4856]

  10. If users save their passwords in Citrix Receiver by selecting the "Save Password" check box and the network connection is temporarily disabled and then enabled again, attempts to start an application by using the "pnagent.exe/Qlaunch" command can fail and the logon dialog box appears. The issue also occurs while stopping or restarting Internet Information Services (IIS) on the Web Interface server.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0183]

  11. If NativeDriveMapping is set to "TRUE" or "FALSE" and UNCEnabled is set to "0" in a XenApp pass-through session, File Type Association (FTA) might fail for Citrix Receiver Enterprise Edition. For example, when accessing a published desktop on Server 1 from a user device, the drives are mapped in the session. On the published desktop, Receiver is configured to open all .doc files with a published version of Word that is hosted on Server 2. When you double-click on a .doc file on a mapped drive in the published desktop, an error message appears.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC1147]

  12. Citrix Receiver for Windows 13.4 Cumulative Update 3 might exit unexpectedly for published SAP applications with the following error message:

"Citrix HDX Engine has stopped working"

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0712]

  13. When users connect to a Windows 7 VDA by using Receiver for Windows, if the user redirects the SpeechMike by using Desktop Viewer, the redirection might fail when the microphone button is released.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0510]

  14. During session pre-launch in non-English XenApp environments, the Citrix Receiver progress bar might become visible and unresponsive with the following error message:

    "Connection Established, Negotiating Capabilities"

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0306]

System Exceptions

  1. The wfica32.exe process can exit unexpectedly and the following error message appears:

"Citrix HDX Engine has encountered a problem and needs to close."

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA3412]

  2. The wfica32.exe process can exit unexpectedly and the following error message appears:

"Citrix HDX Engine has encountered a problem and needs to close."

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA3964]

  3. The wfica32.exe process can exit unexpectedly and the following error message appears:

"Citrix HDX Engine has encountered a problem and needs to close."

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA4695]

  4. If the Multi-Stream policy is enabled, applications can become unresponsive when accessing the COM port.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA5543]

User Experience

  1. If users open multiple Excel workbooks and Excelhook is enabled in the registry, when closing the last workbook the Excel taskbar icon disappears, even though the Excel window is open.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LC0062]

  2. When users start a session without using Desktop Viewer in full screen mode or by using a Desktop Lock on a user device in a multi-monitor environment, scroll bars might appear in the Receiver session window when unplugging an external monitor. Additionally, the session resolution can also change.

To enable the fix, create the following registry key:

    • On 32-bit Windows:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Citrix\ICA Client
      Name: ResolutionUpdateDelay
      Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1000, 1500, 2000 and so on (time in milliseconds, 2000 is the recommended value)
    • On 64-bit Windows:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Citrix\ICA Client
      Name: ResolutionUpdateDelay
      Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1000, 1500, 2000 and so on (time in milliseconds, 2000 is the recommended value)

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA5468]

  3. If folder redirection is enabled on a Windows-based computer, when users log on with Program Neighborhood Agent, the folder with published application shortcuts is created slowly and there is a delay between the appearance of each icon.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA5923]

User Interface

  1. After changing the desktop color scheme from the default color blue to other colors, such as Olive Green or Silver (Desktop > Properties > Appearance tab > Color scheme), the text and the background color of Self-service Plug-in become identical, making it impossible to read menu items.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.400][#LA5121]

Content Redirection

  1. With legacy client drive mapping enabled as described in Knowledge Center article CTX127968, client to server content redirection does not work when launched within a XenDesktop session.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4108]

HDX MediaStream

  1. When playing several multimedia files in rapid succession on http://www.youtube.com/ with HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection enabled, the PseudoContainer2.exe process might exit unexpectedly.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3846]

  2. The HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection feature might fail if Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.94 or later is installed on the client.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA5035]

  3. Browsing certain Web sites with HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection enabled can cause Internet Explorer to become unresponsive.

To enable this fix, you must also install VDA/HDX Mediastream for Flash Fix #LA4151 and set the following registry key on the VDA/XenApp server:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\HdxMediaStreamForFlash\Server\PseudoServer

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA5421]

HDX MediaStream Windows Media Redirection

  1. Pressing Replay or dragging Windows Media Player off the screen and back causes a black rectangle to appear and obscure the top left corner of the video playback.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3999]

  2. In Version 3.4 of Receiver for Windows with HDX MediaStream Windows Media Redirection enabled, a delay of up to ten seconds can be observed before a multimedia file starts to stream.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4141]

HDX Plug and Play

  1. While in a session, the Receiver for Windows might become unresponsive when removing a USB device from the endpoint.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4827]

Installing, Uninstalling, Upgrading

  1. After upgrading to Receiver 3.x, users cannot launch published applications and the following error message appears:

"This version of Citrix Receiver does not support selected encryption. Please contact your administrator. Error 1046: The Virtual Driver is not loaded."

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3120]

  2. Attempts by non-administrative users to upgrade the Receiver for Windows might result in the partial installation of the receiver if the receiver was installed by an administrator.

With this fix, a non-administrative user attempting to upgrade a receiver installed by an administrator receives an error message and the installation process is terminated.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3425]

Keyboard

  1. This fix addresses an issue that can cause the state of the Caps Lock, Num Lock, and/or Scroll Lock keys to be out of sync in an ICA session. This fix introduces a new parameter that allows you to force the synchronization of the keyboard LED state between the client and the server. To enable this option, add the entry "KeyboardForceLEDUpdate = On" to the [WFClient] section of the appsrv.ini file in the local user profile location or of the default.ica file in the corresponding Web Interface site.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3682]

  2. This fix addresses an LED synchronization issue that can cause the state of the Caps Lock, Num Lock, and/or Scroll Lock keys to be out of sync between the client and server.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4293]

Local App Access

  1. With Local App Access enabled, clicking the Desktop Viewer causes the client local taskbar to appear needlessly.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3049]

  2. Setting HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Citrix\PNAgent\FavorLocalApps = 1 (REG_DWORD) to make local applications the default programs for specified file types does not work. Instead, the equivalent published applications are invoked by default.

Note: After installing this fix, delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Citrix\PNAgent\FavorLocalLast if it is the same as HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Citrix\PNAgent\FavorLocalApps.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3776]

  3. With Local App Access enabled, the local endpoint device taskbar might overlap the VDA taskbar if the mouse is positioned at the edge of the screen.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4188]

Logon/Authentication

  1. The registry setting described in Knowledge Center article CTX127887 to set the Receiver logon screen timeout to never expire does not work with Version 3.x. of Receiver for Windows. After installing this fix, setting the registry key as described in the article successfully keeps the logon screen from being minimized.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4253]

  2. Pass-through authentication fails if the ssonsvr.exe process fails to launch before pnamain.exe starts up. This fix allows you to configure the time interval that pnamain.exe waits for ssonsvr.exe to launch.

To enable this fix, must set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Citrix\PNAgent OR HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Citrix\PNAgent
    Name: SSONWaitCounter
    Type: REG_DWORD
Data: <time in 100 milliseconds; if the value is less than 10, 10 is applied by default>

Note: If you set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Citrix\PNAgent, changes to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Citrix\PNAgent have no effect. If you do not set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Citrix\PNAgent, changes to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Citrix\PNAgent take effect effect.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4154]

  3. This issue affects only Receiver for Windows 3.x Enterprise: When switching from pass-through mode to prompt mode, the Domain name field of the logon screen fails to be populated.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4228]

  4. Pass-through authentication might fail to work after installing XenDesktop 7 VDA on Windows Server 2008 R2. The issue occurs because the ssonsvr.exe process fails to start.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4685]

Printing

  1. When sending multiple Adobe Acrobat print jobs to a session printer, random pages or entire print jobs can be lost.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3643]

  2. Session printer enumeration can take an excessive amount of time.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3951]

  3. When configuring Local Printer Settings in Internet Explorer 8 to print multiple pages per sheet, the setting might not be honored; instead one page per sheet is printed. The issue occurs in scenarios where you connect from a XenApp 6.5 published desktop to an instance of Internet Explorer 8 published on a XenApp 6 server.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3379]

  4. Attempts to print an HTML document using Internet Explorer 9 can result in garbled output in the Citrix Print Viewer (cpviewer.exe) and the printout for certain type of fonts.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3962]

  5. The print preview might fail to open in the XPS Viewer on Windows 8 client devices.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA5229]

Session/Connection

  1. The Desktop Viewer (CDViewer.exe) and wfica32.exe processes might exit unexpectedly while reconnecting to a virtual desktop session.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3944]

  2. Receiver with Desktop Lock presents a gray screen each time there is a hardware failure or if the VM is forcefully shut down from the hypervisor.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3499]

  3. The Receiver can become unresponsive when you click the Devices button of the Desktop Viewer toolbar while the "Citrix Receiver â?? Device Access" dialog box is displayed. This dialog box appears if the device access preference is configured to "Ask me each time" instead of the default "Do nothing."

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3899]

  4. After launching and exiting the Self-service Plug-in, Event ID 0 might be displayed under SelfServicePlugin.exe in the Event log.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3926]

  5. With this fix, the IsReconnectInProgress() API is integrated to Citrix Fast Connect 2.0. The feature determines whether the reconnect process is in progress or not while the Auto Client Reconnect feature is enabled.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4080]

  6. This fix allows pass-through applications to be reconnected and enables Workspace Control for pass-through applications.

To enable the fix, you must set the following registry keys:

To enable Workspace Control in pass-through mode:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\PNAgent
    Name: ForceEnableWSC
    Type: DWORD
    Data = 1

To enable pass-through applications to be reconnected:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Citrix\ICA Client
    Name: BypassPassThruMode
    Type: DWORD
    Data = 1

Note: This fix works only under the following conditions:

    • The two or more connection hops cannot occur within the same XenApp Services site or farm. In other words, the endpoint Receiver can connect to a XenDesktop VDA published on XenApp Services Site A, and then the pass-through client on that VDA can connect to a published application or desktop on a different XenApp Services site, Site B.
    • The second connection hop must be to a XenApp terminal session; it cannot be to a XenDesktop VDA.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4206]

  7. The pass-through client on a VDA accesses the rasphone.pbk file every 3 seconds, which can impact the network storage performance.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4278]

  8. When launching a published application in seamless mode, the progress bar window remains in the background.

To enable the fix, set the following registry keys on the client-side:

    • For Windows 32-bit systems:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client
      Name: ForegroundProgressBar
      Type: DWORD
      Data: 00000001
    • For Windows 64-bit systems:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\ICA Client
      Name: ForegroundProgressBar
      Type: DWORD
      Data: 00000001

  9. When a client device is in the sleep or hibernation state for an extended period of time with an active XenDesktop session running, upon resuming, the session might fail to reconnect as expected and become stuck in a reconnection phase requiring the session window to be manually closed.

This fix addresses the issue so that upon resuming the client device, the session window closes as expected when reconnection fails.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA2748]

  10. When using remote assistance software in a desktop that is published to be an odd (non-even) percentage of the client screen (for example, 95%), the remote assistance session might appear to be distorted.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4344]

  14. With the "Hide Icon" policy enabled, the "About Citrix Receiver" window might appear automatically after logging on to the client device.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4513]

  15. With Multi-Stream enabled, Receiver with Desktop Lock might fail to recover from a VDA screen saver and fail to reconnect after a VDA is locked.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4097]

  16. After resuming an endpoint from Sleep or Hibernate mode while connected to a XenApp or a XenDesktop session using Receiver for Windows, copy/paste operations between that endpoint and Citrix session can fail.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3973]

  17. Connecting from within one XenDesktop session to another can result in the consumption of two device licenses.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3985]

  18. On VOIP calls made from a PVS streamed VDA using HollyCRM with the Huawei OpenEye plugin, neither side might hear the other after two hours or more.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA4809]

  19. Logons and logoffs to and from a Windows 7 client device with Receiver for Windows Enterprise Edition installed can be delayed. The issue occurs when logon/logoff scripts are applied by a GPO. Each script can cause a significant delay.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA3811]

  20. If an endpoint with Desktop Lock is logged on without a network connection, the connection screen "Please Wait: Preparing your desktop..." remains displayed indefinitely. Even after the network connection is recovered, the connection screen remains displayed.

With this enhancement, the following message appears after a few seconds and the endpoint is automatically logged off:

"Citrix Receiver could not contact the server. Please check your network connection."

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.300][#LA2338]

  21. Attempts to launch a session using a custom virtual driver can fail.

To enable the fix, you must create the following registry key:

    • On 32 bit Windows
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client
      Name: VdLoadUnLoadTimeOut
      Type: REG_DWORD
      Data: Any value in seconds
    • On 64 bit Windows
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432node\Citrix\ICA Client

Receiver for Windows 3.4 Cumulative Update 2 (3.4.200)

Compared to: Citrix Receiver for Windows 3.4 Cumulative Update 1

Receiver for Windows 3.4 Cumulative Update 2 (3.4.200) contains all fixes that were included in Receiver for Windows 3.4 Cumulative Update 1 (3.4.100), Receiver for Windows 3.4, 3.3, 3.2, 3.0, and the following, new fixes (no fixes were included in Receiver for Windows 3.1):

HDX Plug and PlaySystem Exceptions
Installing, Uninstalling, UpgradingUser Experience
KeyboardUser Interface
PrintingMiscellaneous
Session/Connection

HDX Plug and Play

  1. Clicking Devices within the Desktop Viewer to select a USB device to be remoted using HDX Plug-n-Play USB Device Redirection can cause the Desktop Viewer to become unresponsive.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3348]

Installing, Uninstalling, Upgrading

  1. After upgrading to Receiver 3.x, users cannot launch published applications and the following error message appears:

"This version of Citrix Receiver does not support selected encryption. Please contact your administrator. Error 1046: The Virtual Driver is not loaded."

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3120]

Keyboard

  1. When clicking the Desktop Viewer toolbar with the Windows key pressed in full-screen mode, the key might remain in a down state. As a result, pressing the "E" key subsequently invokes Windows Explorer.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3349]

  2. When using version 3.3. of the Receiver for Windows, pressing the Alt key can cause the key to remain in a down state. As a result, pressing the "E" key subsequently can invoke Windows Explorer.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3334]

Printing

  1. Session printer enumeration can take an excessive amount of time.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3951]

Session/Connection

  1. This enhancement provides significant improvements in the performance of file transfers. To enable this fix, you must install both a server hotfix (XA650W2K8R2X64R02 or its replacement) and a version of Receiver for Windows (Citrix Receiver for Windows 3.4 Cumulative Update 2 or its replacement) that contains Fix #LA1263.

Note: After installing this fix, users might experience unexpected session drops when the File Redirection Bandwidth Limit and Overall Session Bandwidth Limit policies are set to 100kbps and 120kbps, respectively. If this happens, modify the value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Configuration\Advanced\Modules\ClientDrive\HighThroughputWindowSize or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Configuration\Advanced\Modules\ClientDrive\HighThroughputWindowSize(REG_SZ) to 65535 or less on the client device.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA1263]

  2. In dual-monitor configurations connected to a Virtual Desktop Agent and where the primary monitor is a laptop, turning the laptop display off and back on causes the session to subsequently display only on the primary monitor.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3202]

  3. Both console and XenDesktop sessions can become unresponsive (Stuck on "Welcome" screen) when attempting to reconnect to a disconnected virtual desktop session using the Receiver for Linux. The issue occurs when the WDDM driver is enabled on the Virtual Desktop Agent and another virtual desktop session is running within the session.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3241]

  4. Version 3.4 of the Receiver for Windows might fail to start if the client's "Regional and Language Options" for Windows 7 is set to "Kazakh (Kazakhstan)."

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3517]

  5. With Taskbar Grouping enabled on the client device, TaskbarGrpXpVista.dll - within wfica32.exe - unnecessarily queries the client device for information about published applications running in the session. For example, when running a published instance of cmd.exe, TaskbarGrpXpVista.dll queries C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe for information about the executable. In scenarios where the published application is running from the remote share, this can cause undesirable bandwidth consumption.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3661]

  6. Email-based account discovery can fail or take a long time to execute with the following error message:

"Cannot complete account setup, some of the accounts could not be added ... contact your help desk administrator."

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3819]

  7. With a GPO setting in place to prevent taskbar grouping, clicking taskbar icons on Windows XP and Vista client devices fails to switch focus to the associated windows.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3889]

System Exceptions

  1. The wfica32.exe process might experience an access violation and exit unexpectedly.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3459]

  2. Sessions running on single-monitor, aero-enabled Windows client devices can disconnect unexpectedly. The issue can occur when a preview, as part of the Dynamic Window Preview feature, is sent to the client; at that time, a twi3.dll thread can terminate the Winlogon.exe process, which in turn causes the session to disconnect.

To resolve this issue in its entirety, you must install both a XenApp and a Receiver hotfix that contains Fix #LA2858.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA2858]

  3. Citrix Receiver can spawn multiple instances of the selfserviceplugin.exe process, causing the system to run out of memory.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3460]

  4. The wfica32.exe process can exit unexpectedly and the following error message appears:

"Citrix HDX Engine has encountered a problem and needs to close."

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3412]

  5. The Desktop Viewer might exit unexpectedly during logoff.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3567]

User Experience

  1. This feature enhancement for Version 3.4 of the Receiver for Windows allows you to suppress the following authentication message for VPN logins that appears when the user switches between network connections.

To suppress the message, create the following registry key:

    • On 32-bit Windows:
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Citrix\Receiver
      Name: AutoSecureConnection
      Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0 (disables the VPN prompt)
    • On 64-bit Windows:
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node\Citrix\Receiver
      Name: AutoSecureConnection
      Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0 (disables the VPN prompt)

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3772]

  2. A folder with published application shortcuts on the client desktop can temporarily disappear and then reappear when refreshing applications.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3311]

User Interface

  1. This fix modifies the Korean translation of the "Home Desktop" icon title on the Desktop Viewer toolbar to be more specific.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#232198]

  2. The icon for Tivoli Access Manager for Enterprise Single Sign-On (TAM ESSO) in the notification area of the Windows taskbar can disappear unexpectedly when launching a published application.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3190]

  3. On Windows XP devices using the Citrix Desktop Lock and the Windows native smart card login panel, several dialog boxes appear behind the desktop lock's "Preparing your desktop" screen. Users have to press Alt+Tab to bring those dialog boxes to the foreground. The dialog boxes include the smart card PIN prompt, the Server URL, and the regular network credentials dialog boxes.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA3612]

  4. The welcome and/or completion messages after first successful delivery from Merchandising Server fail to appear.

Note: This fix is implemented only for plug-ins that successfully register with Receiver. In Merchandising Server deployments, in order for the plug-ins to register successfully, users must click Postpone rather than Restart when prompted. ClickingPostpone allows the remaining plug-ins to be updated before the client device restarts.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA2277]

  5. The Disconnect button is disabled even while a session is launched from within an RDP session using pass through authentication.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#LA4164]

Miscellaneous

  1. This fix corrects the following issues:

    • The Receiver fails to connect to the internal Web Interface services site if the operating system fails to detect internet access
    • The Event Log unnecessarily logs error messages when the Receiver pings servers for availability

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.200][#260040]

Receiver for Windows 3.4 Cumulative Update 1 (3.4.100)

Compared to: Citrix Receiver for Windows 3.4

Receiver for Windows 3.4 Cumulative Update 1 (3.4.100) contains all fixes that were included in Receiver for Windows 3.4, 3.3, 3.2, 3.0, and the following, new fixes (no fixes were included in Receiver for Windows 3.1):

HDX MediaStreamSystem Exceptions
HDX MediaStream Windows Media RedirectionUser Experience
KeyboardMiscellaneous
Session/Connection

HDX MediaStream

  1. Certain user interactions with Flash content, such as clicking buttons, can cause Pseudocontainer2.exe to exit unexpectedly.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA1948]

  2. The HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection feature might fail to work on Windows 7 embedded systems that are domain joined and with the Citrix Desktop Lock installed.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA1111]

  3. Important: Before applying this fix on a client device, see Knowledge Center article CTX126817 for important information about how the Dynamic Blacklist feature might affect client-side Flash redirection.

In scenarios where the Enable server-side content fetching policy is enabled on the server and the Flash server-side content fetching URL list setting is configured for the Flash Redirection policy on the client, attempts to play Flash content fail if the URL to the content contains multibyte/unicode characters such as those common in Asian languages

To enable this fix in its entirety, you must install both a client hotfix that contains Fix #LA1621 and:

    • For XenApp: an HDX Flash hotfix that contains Fix #LA1621
    • For XenDesktop: a Virtual Desktop Agent hotfix that contains Fix #LA1621

Note: This fix also requires the corresponding language code pages to be installed on both the client and the server. The code pages are installed by default by the Windows operating system. For example, the Japanese distribution of Windows 7 installs the Japanese code pages by default. However, if you are using a URL with Japanese characters on an English distribution of Windows 7, the Japanese code pages must be installed explicitly. This applies to both the client and the server because the URLs are transferred from the client to the server when server-side content fetching is enabled.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA1621]

  4. When switching the focus from the Flash window (- a child window of a Web browser running seamless window) to a local window and switching the focus back to the address bar of the seamless browser window, attempts to type in the browserâ??s address bar can fail.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA2685]

  5. Important: Before applying this fix on a client device, see Knowledge Center article CTX126817 for important information about how the Dynamic Blacklist feature might affect client-side Flash redirection.

The HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection feature might fail to work on Dailymotion videos (http://www.dailymotion.com) with an error. The issue occurs when the client and server are located in different geographical locations.

To enable this fix, you must create the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\HdxMediaStreamForFlash\Client
    Name: DisableRegionFiltering
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 1

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA3134]

HDX MediaStream Windows Media Redirection

  1. When seeking forward, video playback might intermittently show erratic behavior with Windows Media Redirection enabled.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA3188]

Keyboard

  1. Minimizing a virtual desktop session by clicking Home on the Desktop Viewer can intermittently cause the Tab key to stop working on the endpoint until the session is disconnected.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA2925]

  2. As of Version 3.0 of the Receiver for Windows, the KeyboardTimer setting value set at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\LockdownProfiles\All Regions\Lockdown\Virtual Channels\Keyboard no longer works. This fix reinstates the functionality.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA2949]

  3. This fix addresses an issue that can cause the state of the Caps Lock, Num Lock, and/or Scroll Lock keys to be out of sync between the client and the server in pass-through sessions running in the foreground.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA3288]

  4. This fix addresses an issue that can cause the state of the Caps Lock, Num Lock, and/or Scroll Lock keys to be out of sync between the client and the server in pass-through sessions running in the background.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA3310]

Session/Connection

  1. Under certain conditions, changing the resolution of a virtual desktop session before the session disconnects unexpectedly, such as due to a network outage, can cause the session resolution to be different than expected after you reconnect.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA1377]

  2. Attempts to launch a seamless application published to a UNC path over a low bandwidth connection can take more than two minutes to complete.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA2170]

  3. Serial port barcode scanners cannot process labels the label's data size exceeds 512 bytes. To enable this fix, you must set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client
    Name: CommBufferSize
    Type: REG_DWORD
Data: Range of 512 (minimum) and 2048 (maximum value)

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA1695]

  4. Published applications might fail to launch if ICA compression is set to "OFF" for Citrix Receiver for Windows 3.x at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Configuration\Advanced\Modules\TCP/IP Compress=Off.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA3072]

  5. When using Version 3.3 of the Cumulative Update 1 or Version 3.4 of the Receiver for Windows on a Windows XP workstation running Internet Explorer 8, the initial application might fail to launch from the Web Interface.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA3234]

  6. In a multi-monitor environment, the Desktop Viewer toolbar might no longer be visible while switching the display to a secondary monitor in full-screen mode.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA3083]

  7. Sound can take noticeably long to resume after dragging Windows Media Player from one monitor to another.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA3617]

System Exceptions

  1. With the audio policy set to high definition sound, the wfica32.exe process can exit unexpectedly when playing random sample sound files in the Sound control panel of a published desktop.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA1000]

  2. With Local App Access enabled, connection attempts to a Virtual Desktop Agent can fail if a legal notice is configured for the Virtual Desktop Agent.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA2351]

  3. The Pnamain.exe process can exit unexpectedly when reconnecting to a session.

    [From RcvrforWin3.4_13.4.100][#LA2704]

  4. While printing in certain double-hop scenarios, the following error message appears and the Wfica32.exe process exits unexpectedly: "Citrix HDX Engine was stopped working." The issue is caused by port names that exceed 260 characters in length.

To address this issue, you must install both a server and a Receiver hotfix that contains Fix #LA3009.

Compared to: Citrix Receiver for Windows 3.3

Receiver for Windows 3.4 contains all fixes that were included in Receiver for Windows 3.3, 3.2, 3.0, and the following, new fixes (no fixes were included in Receiver for Windows 3.1):

  1. A local Windows Taskbar set to autohide is not accessible when you maximize a seamless application.

    [#178510]

  2. This enhancement provides proxy detection logic optimization so that the logic reverts to use "Use automatic configuration script" when Internet Explorer's "Automatically detect settings" option is enabled and Web Proxy Auto Discovery (WPAD) is not available on the network.

    [#246824]

  3. Pressing the letter "l" key in a seamless application can inadvertently lock the session.

    [#259108]

  4. This fix addresses an issue where duplex printing fails when the Universal Printer driver is configured and has to be done manually instead.

    [#261552]

  5. When launching the online plug-in on a published desktop configured for smart card pass-through authentication over a remote desktop (RDP) connection, the regular Microsoft Windows logon screen appears instead of the smart card PIN prompt.

    [#LA0188]

  6. Attempts to automatically reconnect to a disconnected virtual desktop can cause the Desktop Viewer to become unresponsive after the endpoint returns from standby mode.

    [#LA0266]

  7. A change introduced in Version 12.1 of the online plug-in introduced a delay in the appearance of the connection progress bar for seamless connections. However, for sessions connecting to slower servers, this behavior is not always desirable. This enhancement introduces support for the following registry key that allows you to configure the duration of the delay:

    On 32-bit Windows:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client
    Name: NotificationDelay
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: <Delay, in milliseconds>

    On 64-bit Windows:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432node\Citrix\ICA Client
    Name: NotificationDelay
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: <Delay, in milliseconds>

    [#LA0678]

    [#LA0696]

  9. When launching a seamless session with a secure desktop in the foreground, the seamless session might fail to take focus.

    [#LA1038]

  10. With HDX Flash redirection enabled, keyboard and mouse clicks can stop working after you finish playing a Flash video embedded in a Web page. The issue occurs because the seamless browser window fails to reclaim focus from the Flash video window.

    [#LA1079]

  11. On Windows XP (32-bit only) client devices, applications that do not have icons associated with them can show incorrect grouping in the Windows Taskbar.

    [#LA1208]

  12. The client window might fail to properly rotate on certain tablet devices.

    [#LA1220]

  13. During the Windows initialization process, seamless sessions might become unresponsive.

    [#LA1350]

  15. When the network is in a down state and the Citrix Server cannot be reached through the VPN connection, the Access Gateway might display a balloon pop-up window.

To suppress the pop-up window, you must create the following registry key:

    On 32-bit Windows:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\PNAgent
    Name: SuppressDisconnectMessage
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 0x4

    On 64-bit Windows:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432node\Citrix\PNAgent
    Name: SuppressDisconnectMessage
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 0x4

    [#LA1487]

Note: To address this issue in its entirety, you must install both a server and a client hotfix that contains Fix #LA1620.

    [#LA1620]

  19. In a pass-through session, selecting "Set up audio and video" in Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 and proceeding to the Web cam page can cause the wfshell.exe or the wfica32.exe process to exit unexpectedly.

To enable this fix, you must also install the server-side Fix #LA2368.

    [#LA1644]

  20. In slower CPU environments, the first and last bits of audio playback can be inaudible.

  30. [#LA2092]

  31. With pass-through authentication enabled, the ssoncom.exe process might exit unexpectedly when started. The issue occurs when a large number of environment variables are set.

    [#LA2127]

  32. When the local taskbar is set to autohide and a seamless session is run, the local taskbar is not accessible. If the seamless session is minimized, the local taskbar can be accessed.

This fix addresses the issue for local taskbars located at the bottom of the screen; it does not address it for local taskbars in other screen locations.

    [#LA2156]

  33. Connection attempts from Citrix Receiver running on Windows XP to a Web Interface site listed in the Trusted Sites list can fail upon launch due to a ticket validation failure.

    [#LA2179]

  34. After locking and unlocking a client device while connected to a published desktop in full-screen mode, the published desktop no longer displays in full-screen mode. Instead, the desktop appears as a window and displays horizontal and vertical scrollbars.

Additionally, users may find the Esc and Tab keys not to function in client local applications launched using RES Virtual Desktop Extender until those applications lose and take focus again.

    [#LA2181]

  1. Content redirection can fail if the extended parameter contains non-ASCII characters.

    [#255064]

  2. When launching a full-screen virtual desktop session from the Web Interface with the Classic desktop theme and the language bar enabled, local windows can appear in front of the virtual desktop window and intermittently take focus from the virtual desktop.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client
    Name: Showlocallanguagebar
    Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1 (to enable); 0 (to disable)

    [#259928]

  3. SSL connections using Access Gateway Enterprise as the ICA proxy through the Web Interface fail, an SSL Error 85 occurs, and applications fail to launch. The issue occurs because the SSLSDK does not support the Certificate Policy Constraints extension in X509 certificates. This fix adds support for the X509 extension Certificate Policies. To enable this fix, you must set the following registry key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Citrix/SSL SDK/Policy
    Name: EnableCertificatePolicyVerification
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 1

    [#LA0419]

"To make it easier to access your resources in future, add this Web site to the Trusted sites zone."

    [#LA0457]

  5. With Excelhook enabled, reconnecting to a disconnected, minimized Excel 2010 spreadsheet session creates a ghost window in the top left corner of the screen.

To enable this fix, you must set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Configuration\Advanced\Modules\WFClient
    Name: TWISeamlessFlag
    Type: REG_SZ
    Data: 32

    [#LA0580]

  6. In a session with SpeedScreen Latency Reduction enabled, Marlett, Wingding, or similar types of illegible fonts can be displayed in text input fields before the specified font appears.

    [#LA0861]

  7. After restarting a client device, the Wfica32.exe and Concentr.exe processes start up under the SYSTEM account, causing session launches to fail.

    [#LA1066]

  8. COM port redirection can become slower the longer an endpoint is running.

    [#LA1229]

  9. A large spool file can cause the Citrix Print Viewer (cpviewer.exe) to exit unexpectedly while printing to a network printer.

    [#LA1252]

  10. Launching a seamless application published on XenApp 6 or XenApp 6.5 places the mouse pointer at the center of the screen.

    [#LA1287]

  11. When the Windows logon takes a long time due to, for example, Active Directory authentication, a full-screen published desktop does not display a status indicator to provide status feedback. This can be confusing to users. This fix modifies the behavior of the status indicator so that the indicator remains visible until the authentication completes.

    [#LA1315]

  12. In certain configurations, the CTRL + Space key combination fails to switch between IME language types.

    [#LA1330]

  13. When refreshing applications, applications published since the previous application refresh are appended to the bottom of the list rather than sorted alphabetically.

    [#LA1338]

  14. Microsoft Lync 2010 calls can experience a loss of audio several minutes into the call and the following error message appears:

    "Speaker not working."

    [#LA1465]

  15. When sending multiple Adobe Acrobat print jobs to a session printer, random pages or entire print jobs can be lost.

    [#LA1472]

  16. The Pass-through option is not available as Receiver logon method. As a result, users are prompted for credentials.

    [#LA1491]

  17. The wfica.exe process can experience an access violation causing the plug-in to exit unexpectedly.

    [#LA1529]

  18. This fix addresses intermittent data corruption in the ICA Client Object during virtual channel writes.

    [#LA1541]

  19. Special Folder Redirection does not work for redirecting "Desktop" folders.

    [#LA1698]

  20. The wfica32.exe process can exit unexpectedly when using an auto-configured proxy connection.

    [#LA1712]

  21. Maximizing a session with Local App Access enabled causes the Preferences dialog box available from the Desktop Viewer to be placed behind the session window. As a result, the dialog box is inaccessible.

    [#LA1718]

  22. Exiting the Receiver can fail to terminate the wfcrun32.exe process in a timely manner. If you launch the Receiver again before wfcrun32.exe terminates, attempts to launch applications from the Receiver fail.

    [#LA1870]

  23. This fix addresses an issue that prevents Desktop Viewer from launching in pass-through sessions and that in the process keeps the client from launching as well.

    [#LA1895]

  24. This fix provides an improved user experience with Internet Explorer 9 and Citrix Receiver.

    [#LA1931]

  25. An initialization failure can prevent applications from launching and the following error message appears:

"Citrix Receiver could not launch the requested published application."

    [#LA1940]

  26. The command, pnagent.exe /reconnect /Qlaunch <Farm1:Desktop>, allows users to reconnect to an existing disconnected session from other client devices. However, if no disconnected sessions exist for the user, the following message appears when using the command:

"There are no sessions available for reconnection."

This feature enhancement allows you to suppress the message when no disconnected sessions exist. To do this, you must create the following registry key:

    • On 32-bit Windows:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\PNAgent
      Name: SuppressReconnectMessageBox
      Type: REG_DWORD
      Value: 1
    • On 64-bit Windows:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432node\Citrix\PNAgent
      Name: SuppressReconnectMessageBox
      Type: REG_DWORD
      Value: 1

    [#LA1945]

  27. This feature enhancement allows you to suppress the following error message/notification:

"Citrix online plug-in could not contact the server. Please check your network connection."

To suppress the message/notification, set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\PNAgent
    Name: SuppressDisconnectMessage
    Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1 (disable tool tip); 2 (disable error message); 3 (disable both)

    [#LA2040]

  28. Using an FQDN, attempts to connect to the Secure Gateway through a proxy fail.

    [#LA2057]

Receiver for Windows 3.2

Compared to: Citrix Receiver for Windows 3.0

Receiver for Windows 3.2 contains all fixes that were included in Receiver for Windows 3.0, and the following, new fixes (no fixes were included in Receiver for Windows 3.1):

  1. Custom seamless applications can truncate child windows where the child windows overlap the parent window after retaking focus from a local window.

    [#236305]

  2. With a smart card removal policy configured to disconnect a session upon removal of the smart card, Pnamain.exe can spike the server CPU when you remove the smart card from a pass-through session on the client device. Customers have also reported instances where disconnecting the session or closing the application will also cause Pnamain.exe to spike the CPU.

    [#237003]

  3. With TWAIN redirection enabled, a Cerner application fails to acquire images from a USB camera.

    [#252136]

  4. When you establish an RDP connection to the primary monitor of a dual-monitor endpoint device connected to a full-screen Virtual Desktop session that spans both screens and has the Desktop Viewer located on the secondary screen, the Desktop Viewer is not repositioned to the primary monitor within the RDP session.

    [#255026]

  5. In certain configurations involving Special Folder Redirection and a Citrix GPO configured to enable client drive mapping, the plug-in can exit unexpectedly.

    [#257318]

  6. Pass-through authentication fails when launching a virtual desktop session with client selective trust enabled. To enable this fix, you must set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client\Client Selective Trust Aux
    Name: EvidenceIcaServer
    Type: REG_DWORD
Data: <non-zero value to enable server matching; 0 to disable server matching>

    [#257385]

  7. With HDX MediaStream Multimedia Acceleration enabled, video fails to render on Windows XP desktops. A black square appears in place of the video instead.

    [#257405]

  8. When using a custom Delivery Services Console as described in Knowledge Center article CTX126752, the following can be observed:

    • Client-side seamless application windows can get corrupted when moved or resized after the shadowing stops.
    • Mouse operations can be erratic when shadowing is stopped and then resumed; specifically, the mouse pointer appears to be parked in the top left corner of the session window and immediately returns to that general area after attempting to move it.

Note: To address this issue in its entirety, you must install both a server and a client hotfix that contains Fix #258866.

    [#258866]

  9. In certain configurations, the Connection Center link can be disabled in the Citrix Receiver menu, or display incorrect data.

    [#259193]

  10. Session sharing does not work when the setting "SucConnTimeout" is read from the ICA file as opposed to from the registry.

    [#259645]

  11. The value for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Lockdown Profiles\All Regions\Lockdown\Network\Proxy\ProxyType is case-sensitive; when the value is set to to "none" (all lowercase), the setting is ignored. This fix removes the case-sensitivity.

    [#259772]

  12. When running Dynamic Printer Discovery on a client against a server that does not support the feature and no printers are created on the client, published application launches can experience delays of up to 10 seconds.

    [#260823]

  13. Certain custom hotkeys do not work in Desktop Viewer sessions.

    [#260921]

  14. Dynamic Printer Discovery can lead to a noticeable amount of additional network traffic as client devices monitor for printer changes. This fix applies a different API to prevent additional network traffic.

    [#LA0077]

  15. When using a roaming profile and launching a published application the second time, the icon changes to low resolution.

    [#LA0099]

  16. When client-side IME input method is enabled for the client (wfica32.exe /LocalIME:On), and a local, client-side IME language bar is enabled as well, the local, client-side IME language bar is not visible when the ICA session has focus.

    [#LA0133]

  17. Using the pass-through client to launch an application published on the same server as the client creates an additional session if the domain name contains a period (.).

    [#LA0297]

  18. Hotkeys - for example, the Ctrl+F1 combination - do not work in virtual desktop sessions if the Desktop Viewer is enabled.

    To enable this fix:

    1. Set the following registry key:
      • On 32-bit Windows:
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Lockdown Profiles\All Regions\Lockdown\Client Engine\Hot Keys
        Name: AllowHotkey
        Type: REG_SZ
        Data: 1
      • On 64-bit Windows:
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Lockdown Profiles\All Regions\Lockdown\Client Engine\Hot Keys
        Name: AllowHotkey
        Type: REG_SZ
        Data: 1
    2. Add the following entry to the [Application] section of the default.ica file on the Web server or the [WFClient] section of the appsrv.ini file in the user's profile directory of the client workstation:
      AllowHotkey=1

    [#LA0303]

  19. When using remote assistance software to shadow a Windows XP XenDesktop desktop viewer session with an odd (non-even) horizontal resolution, the shadowing window is skewed.

    [#LA0313]

  20. Applying Group Policy/Client Selective Trust settings to restrict the HDX File Access/Microphone permissions does not cause the related options in the HDX tab of Desktop Viewer Preferences to be disabled. Setting the InstantiatedSecurityPolicyEditable registry key to "false" as described in the procedure in Knowledge Center article CTX128792 disables those options in the Connection Center. After applying this fix, performing the same procedure also disables the options in the online plug-in user interface.

    [#LA0358]

  21. Attempts to connect to published applications from the Web Interface through the Secure Gateway can fail.

    [#LA0445]

  22. Full-screen videos are stretched to fill the entire screen regardless of aspect ratio.

    [#LA0485]

  23. With Browser Acceleration enabled, attempts to open a Sharepoint site with a GIF image on it can cause Windows Internet Explorer to exit unexpectedly. To address this issue in its entirety, you must install both a client and a server hotfix that contains Fix #LA0496.

    [#LA0496]

  24. Version 3 of the Citrix Receiver for Windows can experience above normal CPU utilization (10-20%) on wfica32.exe when multiple ICA sessions are initialized concurrently.

    [#LA0522]

  25. During a XenDesktop or XenApp session, the wfica32.exe process can consistently consume up to 15% of the CPU on devices (physical or virtual) with an AMD CPU.

    [#LA0621]

  26. Server-Side Content Fetching can exhibit poor performance in restrictive WAN conditions due to the lack of flow control in the Flash Virtual Channel. This fix corrects the flow control for the Flash Virtual Channel and provides smooth playback of Flash objects. For information about configuring server-side content fetching, see http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/xendesktop-als/hd-flash-configure-server-ad.html.

Note: To address this issue in its entirety, you must install hotfixes that contain Fix #LA0686 for each of the following:

    • Citrix Receiver
    • Virtual Desktop Agent
    • HDX MediaStream for Flash

    [#LA0686]

  27. With Session Reliability disabled and a session disconnect timer configured on the Virtual Desktop Agent as described in Knowledge Center article CTX117446, disconnecting a client session by clicking the Close (X) button of the session window or the Disconnect button on the Desktop Viewer causes the session to be treated as dropped rather than as gracefully disconnected. This prevents the session from assuming a disconnected state after the amount of time configured in the session disconnect timer. Instead, the session can linger in a Reconnecting state until Auto Client Reconnect stops listening for reconnection attempts. The default value for this is 300,000 ms (5 minutes).

    [#LA0756]

  28. This fix prevents seamless session windows from losing focus after a while. To enable it, you must add the following entry to the [WFClient] section of the appsrv.ini file and then restart the plug-in:

    DisableReceiver=TRUE

    [#LA0773]

  29. TWAIN devices, such as scanners, might no longer be displayed and available in a session..

    [#LA0784]

  30. With the Desktop Appliance Lock installed, if multiple logon methods are specified on the Web Interface site and smart card authentication is specified as the preferred method, users cannot change their authentication method to connect to XenDesktop because no user interface is present for that purpose. With this fix, if no smart card is present in the reader, the default logon method switches to the first non-smart card method configured.

    [#LA0805]

  31. When enabling SpeedScreen Latency Reduction and both the Enable local text echo and Enable mouse click feedback server properties using the SpeedScreen Latency Reduction Manager tool, the mouse cursor can be missing from certain Web forms in high latency connections to the server.

    [#LA0811]

  32. Both the Receiver icon and the online plug-in icon appear in the notification area. This can be observed either after upgrading Online Plug-in 12.0.36 to Receiver 3.0 or fresh installation of Receiver 3.0 or Receiver 3.1 for Windows.

Note: When using the Merchandising Server to deploy the package, the latest version of the Citrix Receiver Updater must be used.

    [#LA0858]

  33. Copying and pasting content within Microsoft Excel 2010 running on Version 5.5 of the Virtual Desktop Agent causes the session to temporarily disconnect. The issue occurs when hovering the mouse pointer over the Paste Special menu option in Microsoft Excel 2010.

    [#LA0911]

  34. After failed attempts to map certain USB devices into a virtual desktop session, the devices disappear from the Device Manager until you restart the endpoint.

    [#LA0954]

  35. With the option selected to refresh the application list when resources are accessed on a Web Interface site, the application list can fail to refresh.

    [#LA1020]

  36. The Windows 7 Snap-to mouse pointer option (Mouse Properties > Pointer Options > Snap To) does not work in XenDesktop sessions using Citrix Receiver for Windows 3.0.

    [#LA1065]

  37. Copying content from a published application to a local application can be delayed by several seconds.

    [#LA1115]

  38. When a user has prelaunch applications assigned and connects to a published desktop with Citrix Receiver pointing to the local client device, the desktop session disconnects immediately when the Application List is refreshed on the receiver within the desktop session.

    [#LA1244]

  39. With the Desktop Viewer enabled, a full-screen client session does not adjust the screen resolution of the Virtual Desktop Agent in response to a change in screen resolution on the endpoint.

    [#LA1257]

  40. While launching a published application in a pass-through session, the explorer.exe process can exit unexpectedly.

    [#LA1396]

  41. Audio playback from playlists can intermittently stop.

Receiver for Windows 3.0

Compared to: Online plug-in 12.1

Receiver for Windows 3.0 contains the following fixes compared to online plug-in 12.1:

  1. When connecting from a XenServer client virtual machine, a security dialog appears, asking permission to access a USB device, even if no USB devices are connected.

    [#224646]

  2. The audio volume in virtual desktop sessions can be inconsistent. Specifically, the client audio volume setting can take precedence over the equivalent setting on the Virtual Desktop Agent.

    [#232926]

  3. On certain client devices, using the automatic client download feature to install the online plug-in from Web Interface can cause Internet Explorer to become unresponsive instead of redirecting users to the Web Interface logon page.

    [#234253]

  4. Users with roaming profiles can encounter the following error message: "All components contained in this installation package are already installed. Click OK to exit installation" and attempts to launch applications fail.

The issue occurs when a roaming user makes connection attempt A from client device A where there is no Web client installed and then makes a connection attempt B from client device B where there is also no Web client installed. Connection attempt A causes the Web client to be installed on device A as expected. However, when the user makes connection attempt B, it is erroneously assumed that the Web client is also installed on device B, which is not the case. Consequently, no attempt is made to install the Web client on device B, and attempts to launch applications from device B fail.

    [#234723]

  5. When the Windows logon takes a long time due to, for example, Active Directory authentication, a full-screen published desktop does not display a status indicator to provide status feedback. This can be confusing to users. This fix modifies the behavior of the status indicator so that the indicator remains visible until the authentication completes.

Note: To correct this issue in its entirety, you must install both a server hotfix and a plug-in hotfix that contains Fix #235374.

    [#235374]

  6. With five or more sessions connected to particular server, additional connection attempts to the same server fail and the following error message appears: "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service." To enable this fix, must set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Citrix\PNAgent
    Name: FileBasedApplicationModel
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 1

    [#236159]

  7. As of Versions 11.2 of the online plug-in and 11.1.003 of Desktop Receiver, a new default behavior (#208294) for full-screen hosted sessions has been in place to where in multiple monitor configurations local applications can no longer be positioned in front of the hosted session. This enhancement introduces support for a registry setting that lets you revert to the previous behavior that allows you to position local applications in front of the hosted session. To implement this change on the client side, set the registry key "TopMostOnFullScreen" as "False" under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Lockdown Profiles\All Regions\Lockdown\Virtual Channels\Seamless Windows." To implement this enhancement from the server side, add the following line to the [WFClient] section of the default.ica file on the server:

    "TopMostonFullScreen=off/False"

    default.ica is located at:

    • For Web Interface sites: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\XenApp\Conf\default.ica
    • For the online plug-in: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\PNAgent\Conf\default.ica

    [#236882]

  8. After locking and unlocking a client device running Windows 7 64-bit Edition, some published applications are not positioned correctly.

    [#237768]

  9. On client devices running Microsoft Windows XP, pressing the Alt+Tab key combination within a full-screen published desktop session that is configured to use Windows keyboard shortcuts locally and not using Desktop Viewer fails to switch to locally running applications. Instead, you must press Alt+Tab twice.

    [#239000]

  10. Version 12.x of the plug-in can fail to launch applications. The issue occurs for non-administrative users in scenarios where the AlwaysInstallElevated policy is enabled and the CitrixOnlinePluginWeb package is installed on a per-user basis rather than on a per-device basis. In this scenario, some registry entries are created under HKLM and others under HKCU (as the installation is launched with elevated privileges). As a result, applications fail to launch.

    [#239382]

  11. With HDX MediaStream for Flash enabled, pressing Ctrl+A to select the Flash content on a Web page can cause any of the following:

    • Windows Internet Explorer exits unexpectedly
    • The cursor stops responding
    • The Virtual Desktop Agents becomes unresponsive until it is restarted

    [#239905]

  12. When accessing a published desktop, applications that are configured as streamed to server and with offline access enabled start automatically when the online plug-in starts or online plug-in settings are refreshed.

    [#240099]

  13. Certain USB devices attached to a Virtual Desktop Agent can render the endpoint device unresponsive when the endpoint device goes into standby and/or hibernation mode.

    [#240506]

  14. After resizing a published desktop to full screen, pressing the Windows key opens the Start menu of the client device.

    [#241308]

  15. The wfica32.exe process can exit unexpectedly when launching multiple seamless applications through a proxy.

    [#241718]

  16. Security messages configured to appear when logging on to a server running XenApp 6 can obstruct the session launch progress indicator. This fix also addresses an issue where users connecting to a non-maximized desktop session cannot not see a progress bar on the client side.

    [#243225]

  17. While launching within a published desktop, the online-plug-in can become unresponsive.

    [#244975]

  18. Bitmap caching by way of a Group Policy does not take effect.

    [#245043]

  19. The pnamain.exe process can exit unexpectedly in multiple processor environments.

    [#245626]

  20. While in an ICA or Virtual Desktop session, pressing certain keys when the local operating system has focus can have the same effect as if the Windows key was pressed in combination with the that key. For example, pressing e launches Windows Explorer, as if the Windows key+e was pressed.

Note: This fix replaces Fix #211067.

    [#246978]

  21. When opening a client mapped serial port, invoking Flash redirection by visiting a Web site with Flash content, and closing the port, the serial port cannot be reopened.

    [#248297]

    [#248299]

  23. Disabling audio queuing as a means of preventing multiple Microsoft Outlook appointment reminders from sounding at the same time (as described in Knowledge Center article CTX118453) can cause sound to be inaudible in the client session and the ctxsvchost.exe process to spike the CPU.

    [#248470]

  24. When the subscribing virtual machine establishes an ICA session with the publishing virtual machine, the user is required to enter credentials for the publishing virtual machine. The Windows authentication screen that appears on the subscribing virtual machine fails to get keyboard focus.

    [#251019]

  25. Desktop shortcuts to published applications can take a long time to recreate after refreshing the list of published applications. The issue occurs because as of Version 12.0 of the plug-in, the location of the icon cache was changed from the Roaming App Data to the Local App Data folder. This fix introduces support for the following registry that, if set, prevents the plug-in from repopulating the full icon cache when refreshing applications:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\PNAgent
    Name: UseRoamFolder
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 1

    [#252526]

  26. After upgrading to version 12.1 of the online plug-in, an SSL Error 40 can occur when attempting to connect to a server through the Secure Gateway and a proxy.

    [#252861]

  27. Setting ConnectionBar=1 in one or more [PublishedApplication] sections of the default.ica file causes the connection bar to be present in all applications running in the session â?? not just in the applications specified in the .ica file.

    [#254235]

  28. Even if only a single client certificate is installed, you are prompted to select a client certificate to use. With this fix, Internet Explorer's zone-specific setting "Don't prompt for client certificate selection when no certificates or only one certificate exists" is honored if set.

    [#254481]

  29. Custom applications that query the COM port's supported baud rate capability can fail when the rate is set at speeds above 9,200 baud.

    [#254605]

  30. After unlocking a virtual desktop session with a USB device attached to the client device, the Desktop Viewer can be unresponsive.

    [#254624]

  31. Attempts to launch applications can fail if the DNS aliases for XenApp servers contain underscores ("_").

    [#255331]

  32. Disabling short file names by setting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation=1 can cause sessions to fail to launch.

    [#255592]

  33. On client devices running Microsoft Windows 7, the online plug-in does not detect the Internet over UMTS WAN connections.

    [#255859]

  34. When using the online plug-in in pass-through mode, vdcdm30n.dll can cause the wfica32.exe process to exit unexpectedly while attempting to access mapped client drives.

    [#256868]

  35. When using a batch file to create printers, printers fail to autocreate if there are printer name mismatches.

    [#258044]

  36. After upgrading a client device with Version 12.1 of the online plug-in installed to Windows Internet Explorer 9, attempts to launch applications from the Web Interface fail and a "Sharing Violation" error occurs. The issue occurs because Internet Explorer cannot access the cached ICA file.

    [#259548]

  37. If the name of a published application contains an ampersand (&), refreshing applications from the notification area indicates that the plug-in does not have connectivity even though it does.

    [#259926]
