Virtual Desktop Agent Registration with Controllers in XenDesktop.

For successful installation, re-install Virtual Desktop 5.5.

After the installation is successful, the following message is displayed:

“Unable to initialize new components. The machine will register and provide desktop but with reduced functionality”

To resolve this issue, clone the Virtual Machine (VM) from XenDesktop Pooled static and attach difference disk to the VM.

Note: This configuration is not supported. Install Windows OS after removing the difference disk.

Problem Cause

This issue occurs because the VDA software is not installed successfully and the registry setting NeedsConfiguring appears under Citrix Virtual Desktop Agent, as displayed in the following screen shot.
