Important Notes about This Release

  • Important: On systems where Windows Installer 4.5 was installed manually rather than as part of a Windows update, a console upgraded with this release fails to launch. As a workaround, uninstall the existing Delivery Services Console before upgrading to this release. The issue is not present with fresh installs of the console from this release.

  • Before installing or upgrading from an earlier version of this component, you must install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable package, unless present. Failure to do so can cause the console to exit unexpectedly.

  • Caution! This release may require you to edit the registry. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

Where to Find Documentation

This document describes the issue(s) resolved by this release and includes installation instructions. For additional product information, see Citrix eDocs, the Citrix Product Documentation Library.

New Fixes in This Release

  1. Application enumeration fails for applications that use a 32-bit PNG icon for the application shortcut. To address this issue in its entirety, you must install both a XenApp and a Delivery Services Console hotfix that contains Fix #259922.

    [From DSCXAMx600W005][#259922]

  2. The Delivery Services Console might become unresponsive while deleting the renamed application.

    [From DSCXAMx600W005][#LA1141]

  3. Attempts to publish streamed applications can fail with just-in-time errors. The issue occurs with applications such as Corel PaintShop Pro that use fully transparent icons.

    [From DSCXAMx600W005][#LA1468]

Fixes from Replaced Hotfixes

  1. In the French language version of the Delivery Services Console, color depth information is inconsistent between application properties and read-only properties.

    [From DSCXAMx600W001][#234449]

  2. In the Japanese version of the product, color depth information is inconsistent among application properties and read-only properties.

    [From DSCXAMx600W001][#240105]

  3. Applications that are launched as streamed to client might not appear under the Users tab of the farm properties in the Delivery Services Console.

    [From DSCXAMx600W001][#241885]

  4. The Configuration Logging Database cannot be configured if the name of the database contains an equal (=) character.

    [From DSCXAMx600W002][#236996]

  5. The console displays the Session Printer policy incorrectly if the name of a shared printer configured on the print server starts with 0 (zero).

    [From DSCXAMx600W002][#245718]

  6. Attempts to modify the icon for a published application from the Delivery Services Console can fail and the following error message appears:

"Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: …"

    [From DSCXAMx600W002][#254835]

  7. New XenApp policies and changes to existing XenApp policies are not saved if policies are being created or modified from multiple consoles by different administrators at the same time.

With this fix, the latter console produces an error message when trying to save new or modified policies. To enable this fix in its entirety, you must also install a server hotfix that contains Fix #256226.

    [From DSCXAMx600W002][#256226]

  8. This fix prevents data store inconsistencies that can result from deleting a streamed to server application from the Delivery Services Console.

    Notes:

    • To address this issue in its entirety, you must install both a XenApp and a Delivery Services Console hotfix that contains Fix #257489.
    • To identify the stale entries or errors, run the dscheck /full apps command.
    • To remove stale entries in the streamed to server application, run the dscheck /full apps /Clean command.

    [From DSCXAMx600W002][#257489]

  9. The Delivery Services Console displays a negative value if the size of the peak working set exceeds 2 GB.

    [From DSCXAMx600W002][#260739]

  10. The Client ID in the Connected users view is always displayed as 0 (zero).

    [From DSCXAMx600W002][#LA0281]

  11. Hotfixes are listed twice in the hotfix inventory list of the Delivery Services Console.

    [From DSCXAMx600W002][#LA0291]

  12. Configuring the printer policies might take up to eight minutes per policy change. As a result, the console might become unresponsive while changing the printer policy.

    To enable this fix:

    1. Install both a Delivery Services Console hotfix (DSCXAMX600W003 or its replacement) and a Group Policy Management Console hotfix (DSCXAGPMx100WX86005; DSCXAGPMx100WX64005, or their replacements) that contains Fix #257255.
    2. Migrate the old printer policies to the new printer assignment policy using a PowerShell script, available for download in Knowledge Center article CTX132168. However, some of the new printer policies might not require any action.

    [From DSCXAMx600W003][#257255]

  13. When viewing session information on a server, the Delivery Services Console might display the following error message:

"An error occurred. Try performing the task again. If the problem persists, contact support."
