Finding Documentation

This document describes the issue(s) resolved by this release and includes installation instructions. For additional product information, see Citrix eDocs, the Citrix Product Documentation Library.

Important Notes about This Release

  • This private software solution is based on Citrix Receiver for Windows 3.0 (13.0.0.6685). Any known issues in Version 3.0 of the product, except for the specific issues resolved in this private update, still apply.
  • Upgrades are supported only from Version 12.0 and later of the online plug-in, and from Version 3.0 and later of Citrix Receiver.
  • Caution! After installing this version of Citrix Receiver, you can no longer downgrade to an earlier version.
  • Caution! This release may require you to edit the registry. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

Known Issue(s) in this Release

When pressing Shift+F3 to disconnect a desktop session with the Desktop Viewer enabled and then reconnecting to the session, a dialog box appears, indicating that Filter Keys are no longer enabled. When this happens, click Yes to turn the keys back on, or No to proceed without using the keys. At any time in the session, you can enable the keys by pressing the Shift key for eight seconds.

New Fixes in This Release

This hotfix rollup client introduces the following fixes that have not been previously released:

KeyboardShadowing
PrintingSmart Cards
Seamless WindowsSystem Exceptions
Session/ConnectionUser Experience

Keyboard

  1. Hotkeys – for example, the Ctrl+F1 combination - do not work in virtual desktop sessions if the Desktop Viewer is enabled.

    To enable this fix:

    1. Set the following registry key:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ICA Client\Engine\Lockdown Profiles\All Regions\Lockdown\Client Engine\Hot Keys
      Name: AllowHotkey
      Type: REG_SZ
      Data: 1
    2. Add the following entry to the [Application] section of the default.ica file on the Web server or the [WFClient] section of the appsrv.ini file in the user’s profile directory of the client workstation:
      AllowHotkey=1

Printing

  1. When running Dynamic Printer Discovery on a client against a server that does not support the feature and no printers are created on the client, published application launches can experience delays of up to 10 seconds.

    [From RcvrForWin3.0_13.0.100][#260823]

  2. Dynamic Printer Discovery can lead to a noticeable amount of additional network traffic as client devices monitor for printer changes. This fix applies a different API to prevent additional network traffic.

    [From RcvrForWin3.0_13.0.100][#LA0077]

Seamless Windows

  1. When client-side IME input method is enabled for the client (wfica32.exe /LocalIME:On), and a local, client-side IME language bar is enabled as well, the local, client-side IME language bar is not visible when the ICA session has focus.

    [From RcvrForWin3.0_13.0.100][#LA0133]

Session/Connection

  1. In full-screen mode, the Desktop Viewer does not honor client-side "Always on top" settings that some applications, such as media players, offer. To enable this fix, set "TopMostonFullScreen=Off" in the [WFClient] section of default.ica, located in the IIS directory of the Web Interface server.

    [From RcvrForWin3.0_13.0.100][#257540]

  2. Session sharing does not work when the setting "SucConnTimeout" is read from the ICA file as opposed to from the registry.

    [From RcvrForWin3.0_13.0.100][#259645]

  3. With HDX MediaStream Multimedia Acceleration enabled, video fails to render on Windows XP desktops. A black square appears in place of the video instead.

    [From RcvrForWin3.0_13.0.100][#257405]

Shadowing

  1. When using a custom Delivery Services Console as described in Knowledge Center article CTX126752, the following can be observed:

    • Client-side seamless application windows can get corrupted when moved or resized after the shadowing stops.
    • Mouse operations can be erratic when shadowing is stopped and then resumed; specifically, the mouse pointer appears to be parked in the top left corner of the session window and immediately returns to that general area after attempting to move it.

Note: To address this issue in its entirety, you must install both a server and a client hotfix that contains Fix #258866.

    [From RcvrForWin3.0_13.0.100][#258866]

Smart Cards

  1. With a smart card removal policy configured to disconnect a session upon removal of the smart card, Pnamain.exe can spike the server CPU when you remove the smart card from a pass-through session on the client device. Customers have also reported instances where disconnecting the session or closing the application will also cause Pnamain.exe to spike the CPU.

    [From RcvrForWin3.0_13.0.100][#237003]

System Exceptions

  1. With Browser Acceleration enabled, attempts to open a Sharepoint site with a GIF image on it can cause Windows Internet Explorer to exit unexpectedly. To address this issue in its entirety, you must install both a client and a server hotfix that contains Fix #LA0496.

    [From RcvrForWin3.0_13.0.100][#LA0496]

User Experience

  1. Full-screen videos are stretched to fill the entire screen regardless of aspect ratio.

    [From RcvrForWin3.0_13.0.100][#LA0485]
