Description

When configuring Desktop Deployment with an external SQL Server after installing XenDesktop, the following message is displayed:

“Database collation sequence must be case-insensitive, accent-sensitive and kanatype sensitive.”

Resolution

To resolve the issue, complete the following steps:

  1. Access Database Properties in the SQL Server Management Studio Console.

  2. Select Options.

  3. Change Collation on the manually created XenDesktop database to Latin1_General_CI_AS_KS, as displayed in the following screen shot:

Problem Cause

The database was created manually on an external SQL server but the collation was not set correctly.

After installing XenDesktop, when configuring Desktop Deployment with an external SQL Server, an error message “Database collation sequence must be case-insensitive, accent-sensitive and kanatype sensitive.” is displayed.
