When a user logs in to the Citrix session while the Citrix UPM is enabled, the user gets a temporary profile even though a profile is created for the user on the profile store. The profile appears in the profile store but it cannot be deleted or accessed at log on.
Caution! Refer to the Disclaimer at the end of this article before using Registry Editor.
To resolve the issue, complete the following procedure:
Navigate to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList.
Search the SIDs from ProfileImagePath by checking for the username of the client in question.
Remove the SID from all servers in the farm. The SID is located in the same location on every server and is the same number. Some SIDs has a .BAK suffixed. This indicates that this file could be the problem causing SID.
After deleting the SID, delete the profile from the profile store and log on. Once logged in, a new profile is created and a temporary profile is not created.
This issue is usually caused by a lockfile created in the <UserName>\Pending folder in the profile of the user on the profile store. When Active Write Back is enabled in the policies for Citrix Profile Manger, all the changes are stored in the lockfile until the server can successfully contact the profile store and update the profile.
The file cannot be deleted because it appears after refreshing and the entire profile cannot be deleted because the file cannot be removed.
