Citrix anounced a Notice of Status Change for Citrix XenDesktop 5.0 on December 3, 2010. That notice announced the lifecycle dates for the End of Maintenance and End of Life milestones. On August 30, 2013, Citrix . announced a Notice of Status Change to add the End of Extended Support milestone.
The table below explains the life cycle management milestones as well as important information regarding dates and support options during this period. The dates and milestones provided are in accordance with the Product Lifecycle Support Policy of Citrix.

The NSC date is the date on which Citrix announces the intent to initiate the lifecycle management process for a product. During the period between the NSC and the EOM date the software will continue to be fully supported. |

End of Maintenance (EOM) |
The date on which a specific product release will have no further code level maintenance other than security related updates. After the EOM date, technical support continues as before but code level maintenance will be limited to security related issues that Citrix consider as critical. Security issues could be related to publicly identified security vulnerabilities, other security vulnerabilities, or Microsoft’s publicly released security updates. |

End of Life date (EOL) |
The EOL milestone signals the date on which security related hot fixes, technical support and product download(s) will no longer be available. Issue resolution will be limited to information contained in the Citrix Knowledge Base. If the issues are unable to be corrected through this method, an upgrade path or migration to the latest version or product replacement is recommended. |

End of Extended Support (EOES) |
The EOES milestone signifies when a specific product release will no longer be covered under the Extended Support Program. The Extended Support Program enables customers to purchase maintenance and support after the EOM date.
