Description

Local profiles for users are created on the XML Broker Server.

Resolution

This issue is by design of the XML Broker Server software.

To resolve this issue, a maintenance plan of scripted profile removal or group policy is required, depending on the organizational needs.

You can remove roaming profiles by using the Delete locally cached copies of roaming profiles policy.

Note: If profile paths of the users are defined in the Terminal Services Profile tab of Active Directory, then the profile created on the XML Broker Server is a local profile and this is not affected by the policy. You need to manually remove the local profiles by using a script or the User Profile Deletion Delprof utility available in the Windows Server Resource Kit.

Problem Cause

A user profile is created on the XML Broker Server when the user changes the Windows password through Web Interface. The XML service logs messages to the XML Broker Server as the user to affect the password change by using Windows API calls. This login event creates a profile on the XML Broker Server.

Note: These profiles are created as local profiles on the server by the operating system.
