Knowledge Center RSS 101

RSS Overview

RSS is an XML-based Web syndication format that Web sites can use to deliver frequently updated content directly to you through an RSS reader. Using RSS keeps you informed about new content you are interested in without having to browse through the Web site yourself. A properly configured RSS reader is basically a single location where you can access fresh content from multiple Web sites.

Some of the newer Web browsers (for example, the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Opera) include built-in RSS readers. You can also use a stand-alone RSS reader to take advantage of this feature.
