You Fail to Stream Applications from Associated Inter-isolation Communication Profiles that Aggregate Multiple Linked Profiles

Document ID: CTX119046   /   Created On: Nov 18, 2008   /   Updated On: Dec 24, 2008

Symptoms

Streaming applications from an associated inter-isolation communication profile aggregating two or more linked profiles fails if two or more linked profiles register components with the same Globally Unique Identifier (GUID).

Cause

When a streamed application attempts to verify the installed components, the Citrix XenApp Plugin for Streamed Apps finds the component registered by the linked profile higher in the hierarchy and returns incorrect product codes. This causes the application to fail to launch or reinstall the component.

Affected components:

XenApp Plugin for Streamed Apps 1.2

Resolution 1

Rearrange the hierarchy of the linked profiles in the minimal inter-isolation communication profile.

Resolution 2

Create a dependent inter-isolation communication profile instead of an associated inter-isolation communication profile.

More Information

This issue is purely dependent on the hierarchy of linked profiles in the inter-isolation communication profile. You can use either of the two approaches to resolve the issue.
