Symptoms

When attempting to launch a streamed application using the Citrix XenApp Plugin for Streamed Apps 1.2 and Presentation Server Client 10.200, you receive the following error message:

"Windows cannot open this file."

Cause

Earlier versions of the Presentation Server Client use file-type associations to launch streamed applications. However, starting with Streaming Client 1.2, the file-type association for streamed applications has been removed, preventing versions of XenApp Plugin earlier than 11.0 (these earlier versions were known as the Presentation Server Client) from working properly with the XenApp Plugin for Streamed Apps 1.2.

Resolution

Upgrade Presentation Server Client 10.200 to XenApp Plugin for Hosted Apps version 11.0 or later.
