A user closes a published application, but the session remains active, and the AppCenter console displays application status “Application not running”:
The “Application State” column was added to AppCenter in XenApp 6.5 to support the Session Lingering and Session Pre-Launch features.
More information about these features is available here:
The administrator can identify which process is keeping the session open by terminating suspect processes within the AppCenter console:
Select the ICA session within the AppCenter console.
From the available tabs select the Processes tab:
Identify possible processes that could be keeping the session open, for example, anti-virus processes. In this example the App-V tray process “sftdcc.exe” is keeping the ICA session active.
Terminate the process within the AppCenter console:
If the correct process is closed, the ICA session should end.
Once the process has been identified, the LogOffCheckSysModules registry key can be amended to ensure this process is closed automatically by XenApp when the published application is closed.
This behavior is by design.
This error might occur if a process running within the session is preventing the session from closing correctly.
