When you Use Static ICA Files with Citrix Receiver 3.0 or Later Session Sharing Does Not Work

With Citrix Receiver 3.0 or later, Session Sharing does not work when you launch applications from static ICA files.


Citrix Receiver 3.0 and later requires a match for the SessionSharingKey ICA file parameter, for Session Sharing to work when the application launches. If the SessionSharingKey is not present, Session Sharing does not work.


Citrix recommends to use Web Interface or CloudGateway Express with Storefront Services. These delivery methods ensure properly configured ICA files with server generated information such as the SessionSharingKey.

For customers who cannot immediately include Web Interface or Storefront Services in their infrastructure, a temporary workaround is to add an entry for the SessionSharingKey in static ICA files. The following value can allow bypassing the check for server generated SessionSharingKey values:
