Summary

This article describes how to deploy the CitrixOnlinePluginWeb.exe client 11.2 through Web Interface 4.5 and 4.6.

Requirements

To deploy the CitrixOnlinePluginWeb.exe Client 11.2 through Web Interface 4.5/4.6 server, make sure to first extract ICAWebWrapper.msi.

Procedure

From Web Interface 4.5

There are two methods to deploy the new Web Client through Web Interface 4.5: Auto Deploy and/or Show Hyperlink.

1. Once the ICAWebWrapper.msi is extracted, rename it to ica32web.msi and place it under \Program Files\Citrix\Web Interface\4.5\Clients\WIONLY

2. Select the permissions on the WIONLY folder and the MSI file to look like the following table:

Group/User Names

Permissions

Administrators (LocalServer\Administrators)

Full Control

Authenticated Users

Read & Execute, Read

NETWORK SERVICE

Read & Execute, Read

Auto Deploy the Web Client

1. Open the Citrix Access Management Console and select Manage application types and client deployment > Manage client deployment.

2. Select Installation Caption and make sure it is set to Automatically (show if the client cannot be detected).

3. Select Client Updates, select Automatically update the Clients for Windows at logon.

4. For Client version, enter: 11,2,0,31560

5. Click OK and test.

The new Web Client deploys automatically whenever there is no client installed or a client older than 11.2 is detected on the workstation.

Show Hyperlink Deployment

The second option to deploy the Web Client is by always displaying the link on the Message Center.

1. Open the Citrix Access Management Console and select Manage application types and client deployment > Manage client deployment.

2. Select Installation Caption and make sure it is set to Always.

3. Under Client Updates, do NOT set it to Automatically update the client.

4. Click OK and test.

The next time users reach the Web Interface site, they are able to download the new Web Client from the Message Center whether or not they have a Web Client installed.

From Web Interface 4.6

1. Once the ICAWebWrapper.msi is extracted, rename it to ica32web.msi and place it under \Program Files\Citrix\Web Interface\4.6\Clients\ica32.

2. Make sure the permissions for the ica32 folder and MSI file are correct as shown in the table below.

Group/User Names

Permissions

Administrators (LocalServer\Administrators)

Authenticated Users

Read & Execute, Read

NETWORK SERVICE

3. Open the Citrix Access Management Console and select Manage application types and client deployment > Manage client deployment.

4. Under Client Detection, make sure Perform client detection at logon is selected.

5. Click OK.

6. Go to \Inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\AccessPlatform\conf and open with a text editor the WebInterface.conf file.
