Symptoms
Version 4.6 of the Access Management Console fails to install on systems running Presentation Server 4.5 with Hotfix Rollup Pack 2. This does not occur if the Streaming Client and Streaming Profiler are installed or if version 4.5 of the Access Management Console is already installed.
This applies to both the 32- and 64-bit versions of Hotfix Rollup Pack 2 for Presentation Server 4.5.
The following error message is generated when installing the Framework component of the Access Management Console:
"Installation failed."
Reproduction
1. Install Presentation Server 4.5 without Access Management Console 4.5.
2. Download and install Hotfix Rollup Pack 2.
3. Install Access Management Console 4.6.
To download the latest Access Management Console, log on to My Citrix, click Downloads , and select Citrix XenApp (the new name for Presentation Server) from the Search Downloads by Product list. This takes you to the download page for XenApp. Under the Components heading on that page, click Access Management Console. The download link is on the next page. Refer to the screen shot below:
Resolution
To install Access Management Console version 4.6 on a system running Presentation Server 4.5 with Hotfix Rollup Pack 2, follow these steps:
1. Download this article's attachment (TransformAMC.zip) to a local drive.
2. Extract the transform file, CDFFix.mst, and copy it to a local temporary directory.
3. Launch the Access Management Console 4.6 Framework installation using the following command:
msiexec.exe /i "D:\Access Management Console\ASC_Framework.msi" TRANSFORMS="c:\temp\CDFFix.mst " /l*v c:\temp\amc.log
Where D:\Access Management Console is the correct path to the ASC_PresentationServer.msi file and C:\temp is the correct path to the CDFFix.mst transform file.
4. Resume the Access Management Console 4.6 installation by using the following command:
"D:\Access Management Console\CtxInstall.exe"
Where D:\Access Management Console is the correct path to the ASC_PresentationServer.msi file.
