Summary
This article describes how to increase support for Access Gateway Advanced Edition to allow HTML Preview for files created in Microsoft Office 2007.
Requirements
This document assumes that the system administrator already has Office 2000, XP or 2003 installed, and correctly performing HTML Preview for documents created in the equivalent version.
Background
Access Gateway Advanced Edition (up to and including version 4.5 Hotfix 2) only supports Office XP, 2000 and 2003 for HTML Preview. It is not possible to use HTML Preview on files in the native Office 2007 format.
Procedure or Steps
Note: This procedure only applies to HTML Preview through published file shares or through the Advanced Access Control Webmail Interface. It does not apply to files accessed through Outlook Web Access.
Caution! This fix requires you to edit the registry. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.
1. Download the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats, and install onto each Access Gateway Advanced Edition server designated as an HTML Preview server.
2. Create the following registry key on each HTML Preview server:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\MSAM\ActivationService\EngineManager\PreviewEngine\caps
3. Create the following registry string values (remove the quotes when adding the values):
