How to Update the AGSE for New Zealand Daylight Saving Time (DST) in 2007

Summary

This article explains how to modify Access Gateway Standard Edition 4.x configuration to comply with the updated New Zealand Daylight Saving Time (DST) policies. A DST patch is available to upgrade Access Gateway Standard Edition units deployed in New Zealand Standard Time zone (NZST) to the updated New Zealand DST zone.

Access Gateway Standard Edition units configured to use Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) are not required to be upgraded with the DST patch.

Background

New Zealand’s updated DST will begin at 2:00 am on September 30, 2007 and end at 3:00 am on April 6, 2008. Access Gateway Standard Edition units deployed in NZST zone must be upgraded with a patch to accommodate updated New Zealand DST zone.

Do not apply this change if the Access Gateway Standard Edition units are configured to use GMT time zone or if your location does not observe the New Zealand DST zone.

Possible Issues

    • RSA integration may not work properly or fail completely

    • Session expirations due to cookie timestamps may not work as expected

    • Depending upon your configuration, certain issues may arise if the time is not synchronized with the Advanced Access Control server’s time

Procedure or Steps

1. Download the compressed file attached to this article.

2. Copy the downloaded file to an empty folder on the hard drive of the computer that is running the Access Gateway Administration Tool and extract the contents.

3. Go to Start > Programs > Citrix > Access Gateway Administration > Access Gateway Administration Tool.

4. Click the Access Gateway Cluster tab and expand the window for the Access Gateway.

5. Click the Administration tab.

6. For the 4.2.x platform:

Next to Upload a server upgrade or saved config, click Browse.

For the 4.5.x platform:

Next to Upload an upgrade or saved configuration, click Browse.

7. Locate the upgrade file that you want to upload and click Open. The file is uploaded.

8. Restart the Access Gateway appliance.
