Known Issues in this Release

The following is a list of known issues in this release. Read it carefully before installing the product.

Upgrading from the previous release

This release is a replacement for the original Web Interface for SharePoint 2007 release and requires that the original package is removed before this package can be installed.

  1. If you already have Web Interface for SharePoint 2007 installed, fully remove the current integration according to the uninstallation instructions in the Web Interface for Microsoft SharePoint 2007 Administrator's Guide.

  2. Deploy the updated solutions and features contained in the release package following the installation instructions in the Administrator's Guide.

Web Part displays "No resources available" on first page load

This message appears when the asynchronous task that communicates with the Citrix XML Service times out within the Citrix Application Delivery Web Part. This task is controlled by the ASP.Net framework; however, it is possible to change an attribute in the web.config file associated with the page to increase the time-out period for asynchronous tasks.

In the web.config file in the Web application root directory, the <pages> child element of <system.web> has an asyncTimeout attribute that controls this time-out period. By default the time-out period is 7 seconds. Increasing this value to 20 or 30 makes the page render correctly every time, although it takes slightly longer to load. [#169767]

Activating HTTP Request Redirection for a non-root site collection

The Citrix HTTP Request Redirection feature relies upon the insertion of a handler into the IIS HTTP request chain. When you activate this feature for a site collection that is not located at the root of the Web application, the feature may not appear to activate correctly because the HTTP module used to intercept redirection requests may not get loaded automatically. Another symptom may be that documents are not available from SharePoint. IIS does not always detect updates to the web.config file in the Web application root directory; however, updating the timestamp on the web.config file forces the HTTP module to load and documents to display correctly. Documentation Errata

Administrator's Guide

The requirements listed for Microsoft SQL Server are incorrect. Where the guide states that Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is required, this should read Microsoft SQL Server 2005 with Service Pack 1. [#170899]

Issue(s) Resolved by this Release

This release of Web Interface for Microsoft SharePoint 2007 (released on 7 October 2008) resolves the following issues.

  1. The unused file shared.dll is erroneously copied to the SharePoint \bin directory when the Citrix Application Delivery Web Part is deployed, which can cause problems with permissions.

    [#181212]

  2. When a Web Interface for SharePoint 2007 site is configured with an alternate address, the Change Credentials button directs users to the default address mapping, which is not accessible externally.

    [#182736]

  3. When Web Interface for SharePoint 2007 is deployed to a site collection that has been extended to a second Web application, a virtual path is created only for the original Web application and not for the second Web application. This results in users' published resources being unavailable.

    [#183239]

  4. When Web Interface for SharePoint 2007 is deployed to a site collection that has been extended to a second Web application, only the site maps for the original Web application are updated and not those for the second Web application. This leads to broken or missing breadcrumb trails.

    [#183974]

  5. When Web Interface for SharePoint 2007 is deployed to a site collection that has been extended to a second Web application, running the client detection and deployment process does not remove the message that prompts users to run the process.

    [#185237]

  6. Unlike SharePoint document libraries, the Citrix Applications page cannot be customized to display small icons.

    [#187059]

  7. The tracing of the deployment and activation process is not automatic.

    [#187300]

  8. During the deployment and activation process, not all instances of processes that run with elevated privileges are logged in the deployment logs.

    [#187302]

  9. The activation of the Citrix Access Core feature through the SharePoint user interface by site collection administrators with insufficient privileges is achieved by elevating the privileges of the application pool identity. This means that site collection administrator accounts are temporarily elevated to the same level of privilege as the SharePoint Farm Administrators group, which is undesirable from a security perspective.
