Description
The CDS 1.0 Tools package comprises three separate utilities:
• CdsDiag is a small utility for identifying common CDS 1.0 operational issues. It is designed for use with Citrix Desktop Server 1.0 and its use cannot be guaranteed with any other version. The following issues can be detected:
o The CDS database service is not running
o The NETBIOS and DNS names of the database machine are not the same
o A workstation (or number of workstations are not contactable)
o A workstation (or number of workstations have not got remote access)
o A user does not remote access permissions to a workstation (or number of workstations)
o A workstation/server (or number of workstations/servers) have duplicate SIDs
• CdsReset is a small utility for quick and easy handling on failed desktop sessions. It has been is designed for use with Citrix Desktop Server 1.0 and its use cannot be guaranteed with any other version. The following functions are provided:
o Reset failed sessions in a specified Desktop Broker group and revision
• CdsSetup is a small utility for quick and easy configuration of the Citrix Desktop Broker. It has been is designed for use with Citrix Desktop Server 1.0 and its use cannot be guaranteed with any other version. The following functions are provided:
o Enumerate workstations from Active Directory
o Enumerate workstations from a VMware ESX server
o Pre-allocate specific desktops to specific users
o Export live configuration from CDS 1.0
o Import configuration into CDS 1.0
o All operations involve a comma-separated-values (CSV) file, which can be edited before being used. The AD/VMware operations and the export operation result in a CSV file being created. The pre-allocate operation involves editing a CSV file and the import operation requires an already created CSV file.
Prerequisites
Overall requirements include:
• .NET 2.0 Runtime
• VMCOM 1.0 API (if VMware interaction required)
• The tool must be run from a machine with the Citrix Desktop Broker installed on it.

Installing CDS 1.0 Tools
Within the .zip archive is a directory for each tool. Execute the .exe to install the tool.
