WANScaler Client - Appliance Redirector Port – No Acceleration

Document ID: CTX114171   /   Created On: Aug 28, 2007   /   Updated On: Aug 28, 2007

Summary

This document provides port information for the WANScaler Client’s Redirector Port, on firmware 4.1.x.

Background

Currently, the redirector port can be set to any value other than the following:

    Non-Usable Port: 22, 80, 443, 1362, 2050, and 2051.

The 4.1.x firmware allows the user to incorrectly use one of the non-usable ports, which causes the signaling connection to fail, in turn causing the acceleration to fail.

More Information

Port 2312 must be open between Client and Appliance for the signaling connection. Usage should be as follows:

    Redirector Port = 2312

The latest version of the WANScaler Client has a built in monitoring system that prevents the incorrect usage of ports. An indicator displays that the Redirector IP/Port could not be made functional and to verify that the IP address or Port is not in conflict.
