Symptoms
The License Management Console shows more licenses in use than the number of users connected.
Use the procedure described in CTX113453 – How to Identify if a Citrix License has been Consumed by a Device to verify who is using licenses.
Below is an example of multiple license usage shown with the lmstat –a command:

Cause
After applying Hotfix Rollup Pack 1 for Citrix Presentation Server 4.5, the client hardware ID identifier is written in uppercase, which causes two licenses to be consumed if you are using version 1.0 of the Streaming Client with version 10.1 of the Presentation Server Client on the same client system.
Note: The client hardware ID identifier has been changed to uppercase for all Citrix products that can use a Platinum license.
This issue occurs when mixed versions of the Streaming Client and Presentation Server Client are used on the same device.
Resolution
Note: Application Streaming is not supported on Citrix Access Essentials. See CTX107097 – Citrix Access Essentials - Unsupported Features for more information.
1. Install Streaming Client version 1.1 or later.
2. Install Presentation Server Client version 10.1 or later.
3. Install the appropriate hotfix rollup pack described below:
Note: Hotfix Rollup Pack 1 for Presentation Server 4.5 updates the licensing engine to be compatible with Platinum licenses. Install this update to all servers running Presentation Server 4.5.
For Presentation Server 4.5: Install CTX112618 – Hotfix Rollup Pack PSE450W2K3R01 - For Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 and Citrix Access Essentials 2.0 for Windows Server 2003 .
For Presentation Server 4.5 64-bit: Install CTX112619 – Hotfix Rollup Pack PSE450W2K3X64R01 - For Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 for Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Edition.
For Presentation Server 4.0 on Windows Server 2003: Install CTX113433 – Hotfix PSE400R03W2K3058 - For Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 for Windows Server 2003.
For Presentation Server 4.0 on Windows 2000 Server: Install CTX113432 – Hotfix PSE400R03W2K018 - For Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 for Windows 2000 Server.
There are currently no hotfixes for Presentation Server 4.0 64-bit.
