Severity: Medium

Description of Problem

The Citrix Access Gateway appliance provides a web based administration console which can perform a limited set of administrative tasks. Cross site request forgery vulnerabilities have been identified in this component that may allow an attacker to perform unauthorized configuration changes on the Access Gateway appliance.

These vulnerabilities affect all Access Gateway model 2000 appliances with firmware versions up to and including 4.5.2. Access Gateway Enterprise Edition is not vulnerable to these issues.

Mitigating Factors

These vulnerabilities are only exploitable when an administrator is logged into the web based administration console. Citrix recommends that administrators do not visit other web sites while they are logged into the web based administration tool and that they close their web browser once they have logged out.

What Customers Should Do

These vulnerabilities have been addressed in Access Gateway appliance firmware version 4.5.5.

Due to this and other issues (listed below), Citrix strongly recommends that customers upgrade their Access Gateway appliance to firmware version 4.5.5 and upgrade to Access Gateway Advanced Edition 4.5 HF1. These upgrades can be obtained from the following locations:
