Summary
To set effective client security checks on Access Gateway Enterprise Edition, you need to know the latest versions of different software that you expect the user to be running on their computer and configure the same. You can check the version of software running on the client computer using any of the methods outlined below.
Checking the Registry Key
On a Windows computer, check the registry key that corresponds to the software that you are checking for.
Example:
For the Sophos AntiVirus software, check the key at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sophos\SweepNT\Version the registry on the client computer.
Checking the .ini Windows Configuration File
Check the .ini Windows configuration file in the registry that corresponds to the software you are checking for.
Example:
For the TrendMicro AntiVirus Pattern Version 1.630 or later, you can check the version in the pc-cillin.ini file in the registry.

Check the Property Link of the Application (Product Version information)
Right-click the executable file of an application (where the file name ends in.exe, .sys or the .ocx) files and click Properties. The product version information is generally stated there. In most software applications, you can also click the Help menu and then click About software name to find the version number.
For the TrendMicro Personal Firewall software, you can check the properties of the "PccPfw" services in the Control Panel where the location of the .exe, .sys or the .ocx file paths is mentioned. Then check the product version using those files.
To check the properties of an application
1. Click Start > Control Panel.
2. Click Administrative Tools.
3. Click Services.
4. Search for the application you are looking for.
5. Right-click the service and click Properties.
6. On the General tab, under Path to executable, note the path to where the program is located.
7. Use the Windows Explorer to navigate to the particular file, right-click the file and click Properties.
8. Click the Version tab. Next to File version, note the version.
Check the Vendor's Special Protocol
You can check the version of a particular software using the software vendor's special protocol, if provided.
