Q: How does the WANScaler handle the following header types, which are common in today’s network environments?

  • 802.1Q
  • 1Q in 1Q (802.1Q tagging)
  • Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) (MPLS header)
  • MPLS-VPN (MPLS header tagging)
  • IP Security (IPSec) (Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP)/Authentication Header (AH) header)

A: The WANScaler recognizes and preserves 802.Q tagging. Other header types are recognized but are not accelerated. They are sent through unaltered.
