Symptoms
The following error message is received:
“Cannot connect to the Citrix MetaFrame Server. Socket is not connected.”
Cause
Secure Gateway is set to listen on all adapters.
Troubleshooting
1. Install the Presentation Server Client on a machine, preferably the Secure Gateway server, in the DMZ to ensure there is connectivity directly to the Presentation Servers.
2. Create a new Web Interface site.
3. Verify basic application connectivity without Secure Gateway.
4. Enable the new Web Interface site with Secure Gateway.
5. Verify that all the ports are open on the firewall (1494, 2598, 8080, and so on).
6. Run the Citrix Secure Gateway configuration and attempt to start the Secure Gateway Service.
Resolution
Set Secure Gateway to listen to a specific adapter. Once this is done, the Secure Gateway Service starts and the application is accessible.
