Issue(s) Resolved in this Hotfix

  1. When attempting to connect to a server, the following error message may appear, indicating that the server is fully loaded when, in fact, it is not:

"Cannot connect to the Citrix Server: The Citrix Server is not available, please try again later."

The issue occurs when either the non-paged or paged memory pool is depleted. This feature enhancement allows you to configure wdica.sys to allocate memory from a specific memory pool by using the following registry key/value:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\Wds\icawd
    Name: MemoryAllocationMode
    Value: REG_DWORD

0x1 causes wdica.sys to allocate from the system's non paged pool
0x2 causes wdica.sys to allocate from the system's paged pool

  2. At times of high server utilization, all sessions on heavily utilized servers may become unresponsive.

    [From XE104R02W2K011][#129829]

  3. This fix introduces improvements to support certain legacy applications when accessing mapped client drives.

    [From XE104R02W2K013][#117720]

  4. When attempting to unlock a smart card-authenticated session locked by a screen saver, you are prompted for a password rather than a PIN.

    [From XE104R02W2K013][#119748]

  5. At times of heavy utilization, time-out messages may be generated in the System Event Log; processes such as Terminal Service, SvcHost, and IMA Service may exhibit memory and/or handle accumulation, and sessions may appear to be unresponsive.

    [From XE104R02W2K013][#129783]

  6. Browsing local files and folders within ICA sessions may intermittently display zero objects within the local client drive.

    [From XE104R02W2K013][#133520]

  7. The server may intermittently experience a kernel trap when Driver Verifier DeadLock Detection feature is enabled on the cdm driver. The trap will indicate DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4).

    [From XE104R02W2K020][#139983]

  8. After applying hotfix XE104R02W2K011, client devices running Wyse Blazer operating system may experience reduced performance in some graphical operations. This fix both resolves the issue and introduces an enhancement to allow more granular tuning of the fix’s effect on the graphics performance by setting the following registry key.
  9. KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\Wds\icawd
    Name: MinGetBufferDelayInMilliSeconds
    Value: REG_DWORD
    Data: buffer delay in milliseconds

The default buffer delay is 10 milliseconds when this registry entry is not set.

    [From XE104R02W2K026][#142198]

  10. On occasion, printing large files causes the printer to be marked offline.

    [From XE104R02W2K036][#125965]

  11. After installing hotfix XE104R02W2K011, the server fails unexpectedly with the error KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (8e).

    [From XE104R02W2K036][#145769]

  12. If client keep-alives are enabled, shadow sessions are disconnected when the user logs off or stops shadowing.

    [From XE104R02W2K036][#147470]
