Summary

This article describes how to configure the Application Gateway to use Express Directory files in comma-separated value (CSV) format.

Procedure

  1. Open the Application Gateway Administration Tool.
  2. From a Web browser, enter the following URL:
    https://AG_ipAddress:AG_adminPort
  3. Go to the Operation > Voice Office > Directory page.
  4. Under Number of Directory Sources, select the total number of directories (both Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and CSV) to be used by Voice Office applications.
  5. Under Configure Source, select the source number. The Application Gateway identifies each directory source by a unique number. For example, if you are using three directory sources, you select 1, 2, or 3 from Configure Source to identify the directory that you want to configure. If you need to change the settings for a directory source later, return to this Directory page and choose the source number from Configure Source.
  6. To combine multiple sources into one directory, select the Combine Sources check box. If this check box is selected for any source, all sources are combined. If you combine directories, Express Directory users search one combined directory, which is accessible from the Express Directory menu. If you do not combine directories, Express Directory users choose a directory name from the Express Directory submenu. Users might find it more convenient to select from a submenu containing entries such as Departments, Staff, Services, and so on than to search a combined directory.
  7. If you are not combining directories, enter a short, descriptive title for the CSV directory file that you are configuring. This title is displayed in the submenu that appears when an IP phone user selects Express Directory.
  8. From Data Source, choose CSV.
  9. Complete the CSV Uploads via FTP fields as follows:

    Field

    Description

    FTP Host

The IP address of host name of the FTP server where you have placed a directory file in CSV format.

Note: You must ensure that an updated CSV file is available for subsequent synchronizations.

    FTP Path

The path to and file name of the directory file. Most FTP servers are case-sensitive.

    FTP Username and Password

    Your FTP credentials.

    Telephone Labels

You can specify one to three Telephone Labels to correspond to the telephone numbers provided in the CSV file. The labels display with the phone numbers.

    Search Directory by

The attributes to be used during a search. You can select one or more of the following attributes: Name (first and last name), Surname (last name), and First Name.

  1. Click Submit.
