Summary
This document describes how to customize the Voice Office Menu.
Background
The Voice Office Menu displays on the screens of Cisco IP phones according to how the phones are configured. For example, the Voice Office Menu can appear when a phone is idle or when the phone user presses the Services button. For information on configuring IP phones, see “Configuring IP Phones to Display the Voice Office Menu,” on page 47 of the Application Gateway Administration Guide.
You can customize the Voice Office Menu as follows:
• Add an Exit soft key to the menu. You can set the Exit soft key on the Voice Office menu to return to the telephony system or to go to a specified URL.
If you add an Exit key to the Voice Office menu, the behavior that you specify for it also applies to the Exit key that appears on other Voice Office application screens that are accessed directly from a URL. The Exit key on a screen accessed from the Voice Office menu always returns the user to the Voice Office menu.
• Remove applications from the Voice Office Menu.
By default, the Voice Office Menu lists all applications that are licensed. If you do not want an application to appear on the Voice Office Menu, you can remove it.
• Add a link to a custom application to the Voice Office Menu.
By default, the Voice Office Menu lists only the applications that you have licensed. You can add a custom application to the Voice Office Menu.
Procedure
To customize the Voice Office Menu:
1. From a Web browser, enter the URL https://AG_ipAddress:AG_adminPort to open the Application Gateway Administration Tool.
2. Go to the Operation > Voice Office > Menu page.
3. To add an Exit soft key to the Voice Office Menu, select either Telephony or URL.
4. If you selected URL, enter the full URL of the destination, such as http://ipAddress/servicesmenu.xml. Do not point an Exit key to the Application Gateway itself. For example, do not copy a link from Voice Office > Paging or Directory for this purpose.
5. To change the applications listed in the Voice Office Menu, clear the application check box.
6. To include a link to a custom application, select the Add Custom Application check box and enter the name to appear in the menu and the full URL of the application, such as http://ipAddress/myapp.asp.
7. Click Submit.
