The NetScaler 12000 System does not Pass Traffic on Interface 0/1

Document ID: CTX111108   /   Created On: Oct 10, 2006   /   Updated On: Oct 10, 2006
Average Rating: not yet rated

Symptoms

When connecting the NetScaler 12000 system to a switch through the 0/1 interface located on the back of the system, it may not pass traffic even though the NetScaler has been configured with the proper NetScaler IP address and default route. The 0/1 interface is a 10/100 port (like the Fast Ethernet (FE) ports on the 7000 system).

Note: It can pass traffic but its intended use is as a management convenience.

Cause

The NetScaler 12000 system has eight small form-factor pluggable (SFP) interfaces that are used and configured for typical data traffic. If there are no SFP connectors in 1/1 slots, the NetScaler does NOT send and receive traffic on the 0/1 interface.

Resolution

Install at least one NetScaler SFP connector in a 1/1 slot.

More Information

This issue has been fixed in build 7.0 47.x and will also be made available in build 6.1 95.m for the 12000 system.
