Symptoms

The Java client loses its format when copying and pasting between and an ICA session and an application on the local desktop.

Reproduction

  1. Launch a publish application using the Java client.
  2. Select some text and change the format to include bold, underline and/or italic letters.
  3. Copy the text to the clipboard.
  4. Open an application on the local desktop and paste the text.
  5. The text loses its format when copied over.

Resolution

This is a limitation of the Java client. The Java client only supports plain text for clipboard operations.

More Information

The Java client also does not support the copying and pasting of images (such as bitmaps, JPEGs and so on) between the session and local desktop.
