Q: How often does Network Time Protocol (NTP) synchronize?

A: When you configure your Application Firewall to use NTP to synchronize your firewall system clock to a time server, the clocks are synchronized every 15 minutes.

Q: How far apart can clocks be and still become synchronized?

The maximum difference between the clocks cannot exceed 1,000 seconds or NTP refuses to synchronize the clocks.

To configure the NTP server for your entire Application Firewall cluster:

  1. Log on to the Management Interface.
  2. Under the Setup menu, choose System
  3. In the Time Settings section of the screen, click Settings.
  4. Enter the IP address for the NTP server.
  5. Click Save NTP server.
  6. Click Close.
