Q: After connecting a new 7000 series NetScaler to the network and setting the link to 100/full, the link doesn’t come up after a failover. Why?

A: This is a known issue where the NetScaler fails to bring up Gig ports that are hard-coded as 100/full (and no auto-negotiation) after a failover.

As a workaround, you can set the switch-side port to auto-negotiate. The fix would be to upgrade to NetScaler version 6.1 build 86.1 or higher. This problem only affects the 7000 series and does not affect the 9000 series.

Note: Since build 86.1 is the first General Availability build in the 6.1 train, this issue is seen mostly with beta users or users who have Conditional Availability software.
