How to Deploy the Client for Java to use Microsoft JVM in Web Interface 4.x

Summary

This document describes how to deploy the Client for Java to use the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (MSJVM) in Web Interface 4.x.

Background

The Client for Java 9.x does not provide support for the MSJVM. The Client for Java Version 8 that is included with Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 contains the Microsoft .cab files used with the MSJVM. To use the MSJVM and upgrade the Client for Java (for example, to update a client with the latest code signing certificate or to install a hotfix), use the Client for Java 8.x (.cabs only) in your Web Interface deployment.

Procedure

  1. Download the latest Client for Java 8.x (.cabs only) from the Citrix Support site.
  2. Unpack the JICAComponents archive.
  3. Copy the files to the ICAWEB\icajava folder on the server running Web Interface.
  4. Restart the Web server to apply the changes.
