Symptoms

When installing an InstallShield package into an Application Isolation Environment, the following error may occur:

“Error: Setup has experienced an error. Error code: -6005”

Cause

InstallShield tries to install some components into C:\Program Files\Common Files.

Resolution

Edit the Application Installation Environment properties and add a rule excluding C:\Program Files\Common Files.
