Symptoms
When used with Citrix Web Interface 4.x and/or Citrix Access Gateway Advanced Access Control 4.x, both the embedded ActiveX ICA and embedded RDP clients require the end-user to click in the ICA or RDP session before they can interact with it.
In addition, the Java ICA client requires that the end-user click in the Connection Center dialog before they can interact with it, but interactions with the related ICA session(s) are unaffected.
Cause
In February 2006, Microsoft released a non-critical update (KB 912945) to Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 for Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1). This update changes the way in which Internet Explorer handles some Web pages that use ActiveX controls.
On April 11, 2006, this patch was bundled with the latest Microsoft security update, which is required via Windows Update and Automatic Update.
ICA sessions that are launched via Web Interface 4.0 and/or Access Gateway Advanced Access Control 4.x are affected when the embedded Java and ActiveX ICA Clients are used. RDP sessions that are launched via Web Interface 4.0 are affected when the embedded ActiveX RDP client is used.
