Symptoms
The usage section of the License Management Console contains duplicate entries for the start-up license. Also, it is possible, but not likely, to exceed the limit of 5000 connections to the start-up license.
Cause
Sometimes Presentation Server does not release the start-up license (citrix_startup.lic) if it shuts down improperly.
Resolution
As a workaround, do one of the following:
• Run the lmremove utility to remove duplicate start-up license entries from the License Management Console. For more information, see the MetaFrame Access Suite License Server Customizations manual, which is available from the Citrix Web site.
• Restart the computer running MetaFrame Presentation Server that did not shut down correctly.
• Restart the CitrixLicensing service in the Windows Services panel on the license server.
Note: Restarting the CitrixLicensing service can cause a temporary increase in CPU usage; only restart the CitrixLicensing service as a last resort. [#83700]
