Symptoms

Guest attendees are unable to connect to a conference when SSL is being used.

Cause

The Conference Organizer and External Conference Service are on a single Windows 2000 MetaFrame XP Feature Release 3 server. The Guest Attendee is running on a server in the DMZ, with Web Interface 3.0 and Secure Gateway installed and working. Both servers have our internal certificate installed.

Resolution

Check the certificate.

To configure the Guest Attendee Web Interface:

If you are using IIS for SSL, perform the procedure "To use IIS" described below before you complete this one. If you are using Citrix SSL Relay or nothing, proceed to step 1.

1. Launch the Configuration tool at the server where the interface is installed.

2. Select the Guest Attendee Web Interface tab.

3. Select the farm that you will be using for conferences.

4. Perform one of the following actions:

    • If you are not using SSL, type the server name and the port number that the External Conference Service is using.

    • If you are using SSL (IIS or Citrix SSL Relay), select the Only use SSL check box and type the port number used by either IIS or SSL Relay.

5. Click OK.

Using Internet Information Services (IIS) for SSL.

To use IIS:

1. Copy the files:

    a. Create a subdirectory Citrix\COrganizerWS under inetpub\wwwroot.

    b. In the COrganizerWS directory, create a Bin subdirectory.

    c. Copy COrganizerWSO.dll, ICOrganizerWS.dll, and COrganizer_RCW.dllfrom the CMCM > Install folder to the Bin directory.

    d. Copy the COrganizerWS.exe.config file from the CMCM > Install folder to the COrganizerWS directory.

    e. Rename COrganizerWS.exe.config to web.config.

2. Modify the web.config file:

    a. Open the web.config file in a text editor.

    b. Replace <application name="Citrix/COrganizerWS"> with <application>.

    c. Replace <channel ref="http server" port="9000" /> with <channel ref="http"/>.

3. Create an IIS application for the External Conference Service:

    a. Open inetmgr (as an administrator).

    b. See page 42 of CTX107432 – Citrix Conferencing Manager Administrator's Guide 4.0.

    c. Navigate to Default Web Site > Citrix > COrganizerWS.

    d. Right-click COrganizerWS. The Properties dialog box appears.

    e. Create an IIS application by clicking Application Settings > Create.

    f. For SSL support, install a Web server certificate.
