License Management Console Rejects Logon Credentials with Error: Access Denied

Symptoms

When attempting to log on to the License Management Console, the credentials entered are not accepted. Users continue to receive the logon box and after entering the credentials twice they receive one of the following error messages:

“You are not authorized to view this page Error 401”

-or-

“Access is Denied”

Resolution

1. Verify that the credentials being entered are correct.

2. Verify that the License Management Console for Citrix Licensing service is running in Services.

3. In Internet Services Manager, verify that “Integrated Windows authentication” is enabled on both the Default Web Site and the Jakarta virtual directory located under the Default Web Site:

    a. Go to Internet Service Manager, right-click the Default Web Site.

    b. Select Properties > Directory Security tab, under Authentication Control click Edit.

    c. Verify that Integrated Windows authentication is selected. Verify the same on the Jakarta virtual directory.
