QueryDC

Description

The QueryDC utility is used to determine the data collector for a given zone. Without any parameters, Querydc defaults to the host server’s zone and returns the zone name and name of the current zone data collector.

Installing QueryDC

Querydc is not installed by default. Download the attached file and copy the utility to the MetaFrame server. This executable is also located on the MetaFrame XP Feature Release 3 CD.

How to Use QueryDC

Execute at the command line with the following switches:

Querydc –a - This displays all zones in the farm with the current zone data collector for each.

Querydc –e - This forces a new zone data collector election in the current zone.

Querydc –z zonename - This displays the current zone data collector for the zone specified by zonename.

Querydc -? - This displays the syntax for the utility and information about the utility’s options.

Comments

    • Uses the IMA Service to contact the local zone data collector for the requested information. Therefore, the IMA Service must be running for Querydc to be successful.

    • Security Restrictions - You must be a MetaFrame administrator to execute this command.

Uninstalling QueryDC

Uninstallation is not necessary.
