Pre-Installation Update Bulletin
This bulletin contains:
• Links to updates to Microsoft server operating systems. - These are updates to your server operating system(s) you may need to apply before installing the Citrix Access Suite or its components.
• Links to updates to the installer files of Citrix Access Suite components. – These are updates to the product installer files you may need to apply before installing the product.
• Links to critical hotfixes for Citrix Access Suite components. – These are updates to Access Suite components you may need to apply after installing the product.
Important: Read this entire bulletin before proceeding with any pre-installation, installation, or post-installation tasks. Follow all instructions carefully as you may not be able to properly install or run the product otherwise.

Citrix Access Gateway Enterprise
Section A - Before You Install Citrix Presentation Server
Step 1 - Updating Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems
Step 1 ensures that the servers on which you plan to install Citrix Presentation Server feature all necessary system updates. To do this:
1. Download the updates to Microsoft server operating systems listed below.
2. Install the updates on every server on which you plan to install Citrix Presentation Server.
3. Return to this page and proceed to Step 2.
The following system updates are currently available:
Windows 2000 Server
• KB Article Number 824141: Buffer Overrun in the ListBox and in the ComboBox Control Could Allow Code Execution. This update is optional; however, it contains two fixes that improve the performance of Citrix Presentation Server. It improves the performance of printer auto-creation at logon and addresses a terminal server memory leak that could lead to slow server performance. This update is hosted by Microsoft and available for download here: MS03-45.
NOTE: If your server is current with updates through Windows Update, this update should already be applied. To verify this, ensure that Windows 2000 Hotfix KB824141 appears in the Add/Remove Programs control panel.
• KB Article Number 826750: WMI Does Not Call the IWbemEventProviderSecurity::AccessCheck Method Correctly. This update applies to Citrix Presentation Server, Enterprise Edition only. It contains a fix that enables the resource monitoring feature of Citrix Presentation Server, Enterprise Edition. This update is hosted by Citrix and available for download here:CTX103695.
Windows Server 2003

Step 2 ensures that the installer files feature all necessary updates before you install the product.
The following system updates are currently available:
• CTX Article Number : CTX106998 : Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 and Service Pack 2005.04 for Citrix Presentation Server 3.0 does not install on some Microsoft Windows Operating Systems in language version other than English, German, French, Spanish and Japanese.
Step 3 - Applying Critical Updates to Citrix Presentation Server After Installation
Step 3 ensures that your product installation features the latest critical updates necessary to properly run the product. To do this, visit the http://support.citrix.com/ (Windows 2000 Server) or http://support.citrix.com/ Windows Server 2003 to download and apply the available critical updates.
