Error: The Access Center Cannot Launch the Published Resource. The MetaFrame XP server or Secure Gateway server may not be available

Symptoms

You receive the following error message:

"The access center cannot launch the published resource. The MetaFrame XP server or Secure Gateway server may not be available. Contact your administrator for assistance."

Refer to the following screen shots:

Note: This error message does not appear when logging on directly to Secure Access Manager (bypassing Secure Gateway).

-Or-

You receive the following error message from a Secure Gateway and Web Interface configuration:

"The resource you requested is no longer available from the servers or the specified user no longer has access to it."

Cause

MetaFrame Secure Access Manager or Web Interface is not correctly configured for Citrix Secure Gateway.

Citrix Technical Support was able to generate this error by renaming CTXSTA.dll on the Secure Ticket Authority server.

-Or-

The MetaFrame server is not functioning.

There may be an issue with the Secure Ticket Authority (STA). In the case of Secure Gateway/Web Interface, Citrix Technical Support was able to generate this error by configuring an invalid Presentation 4.0 server within the Access Management Console.

Resolution

For MetaFrame Secure Access Manager:

Open the Access Management Console.
Right-click the Access Center and go to Properties > Published Resources > Address Mode.
Ensure that Client IP Address contains the IP address of the Secure Gateway server and that the address mode is set to Secure Gateway. Refer to the following screen shot:

Click the Secure Gateway button to ensure that the correct Secure Gateway server address is configured.
Launch published applications using the regular Program Neighborhood Client and TCP+HTTP browsing.
CTX107105 – Error: The access center cannot launch the published resource. The MetaFrame XP server or Secure Gateway server may not be available...with the Embedded CDA

For Secure Gateway and Web Interface:

Ensure the configured STA in the Web Interface Access Management Console is accurate, reachable, and functioning correctly.
