Issue(s) Resolved in this Hotfix
Important: Updates to two Conferencing Manager components are required for this issue to be resolved. Citrix Hotfix MCM300W007 (this hotfix) resolves a problem with Conferencing Manager. Citrix Hotfix MCM300W011 resolves a problem with the Conference Organizer component. Both hotfixes need to be applied to resolve this issue.
Registry access and remote event log viewing were disabled after installing Conferencing Manager Version 3.0. Installing MetaFrame Conferencing Manager modified the access control lists (ACLs) on the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurePipeServers\winreg.
This hotfix adds read permissions to ACLs for Backup Operators and Local Service groups to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet\Control\ SecurePipeServers\winreg key to enable remote registry access and remote event viewing. This hotfix needs to be applied on all Windows 2003 servers hosting any Conferencing Manager 3.0 component.
Note: If a special set of ACLs (for example, access was given to certain user groups other then Backup Operators, Loical Service, Network Services, and Administrators) for this key before Conferencing Manager 3.0 was installed, an administrator needs to reapply the special set of ACLs to this key after the installation of this hotfix. This hotfix does not restore any special set of ACLs applied to this key before Conferencing Manager 3.0 was installed.
Following the application of this hotfix, emote registry access and remote event log viewing are enabled again.
