Symptoms

The ICA Client for 32-bit Windows 8.x or later is unable to connect through Secure Gateway in Relay Mode. You receive the following error message:

"Cannot connect to the Citrix Presentation Server.

The Citrix SSL Server you have selected is not accepting connections.”

Cause

Secure Gateway in Relay Mode does NOT support the Session Reliability feature. The Session Reliability feature, by default, is enabled when you initially install the ICA Client 8.x or later and create an application set or custom ICA connection.

Resolution

Disable the Session Reliability feature on the Program Neighborhood client and/or the server farm.

For an Application Set:

1. Open your target Application Set.

2. Go to File > Application Set Settings.

3. Select the Default Options tab.

4. Clear the Enable session reliability check box.

5. Click OK to activate the settings.

For a custom ICA connection:

1. Highlight the target custom ICA connection.

2. Go to File > Properties.

3. Click the Options tab.

4. Clear the Enable session reliability check box.

5. Click OK to activate the settings.

For Presentation Server 3.0 or 4.0 server farms:

1. Open the Citrix Management Console/Presentation Server Console.

2. Right-click the Farm name and select Properties.

3. Under Session Reliability, clear the Enable users to view sessions during broken connection check box.

4. Click OK to activate the settings.

For Presentation Server 4.5 server farms:

1. Open the Access Suite Management Console and if needed, run Discovery.

2. Click the Farm Name. From the Common Tasks menu, select Modify farm properties then select Modify all properties.

3. Under Farm wide > Session Reliability, clear the Allow users to view sessions during broken connection check box.

4. Click OK to activate the settings.
