Symptoms
When attempting to run Lmstat –a, the following error message appears at a command prompt:
“Error getting status: Cannot find license file (-1,359:2 "No such file or directory")”
Background
By default, the license file path should be listed in the registry. If it does not appear in the registry, running certain License Administration Commands produces an error at the command line.
The license file path should be listed in the following registry location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Flexlm License Manager
The screen shot below is an example of what you see if the license file path is NOT listed in the registry.

Resolutions
CTX111344 – Citrix License Path Utility
Run the License Administration Command, lmpath, to point the license server to a license file.
Syntax
lmpath –add CITRIX "path to license file"
For example:
lmpath –add CITRIX “C:\Program Files\Citrix\Licensing\MyFiles\citrix_startup.lic”
If the command is successful, the following message appears at the command prompt:
"New path for CITRIX_LICENSE_FILE: C:\Program Files\Citrix\Licensing\MyFiles\citrix_startup.lic"
Some attempts to copy and paste the text from this article to a command prompt and then executing the lmpath command have been unsuccessful. Manually enter the entire command line path to eliminate any possible syntax errors.
