Summary
This document provides information on using the Oracle 10g Database for the following:
Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 and Resource Manager 4.0
Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 and Resource Manager 4.5
MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0
The Oracle 10g Database has not been fully tested and supported as a valid database platform. This statement also applies to earlier releases of the MetaFrame product line.
Citrix recommends that you download/obtain the latest Oracle 10g ODBC Windows clients from Oracle before proceeding with installations of MetaFrame.
Customers willing to use this database platform should follow all guidelines in the MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 Administrator’s Guide and the Advanced Concepts Guide that reference Oracle installations and Oracle Client usage.
Citrix Engineering has only verified the usage of the 10g Database as the Independent Management Architecture (IMA) data store.
Note: The assumption can be made that this database version will support both the IMA data store and the Resource Manager Summary database. This new version has the same functionality as Oracle 9Ir2 databases.
Citrix Presentation Server 4.0
The Oracle 10g Database is a supported database version for Presentation Server 4.0. Refer to CTX105672 – MetaFrame Presentation Server 4.0 Readme EN.
MetaFrame Presentation Server Administrator's Guide
Support for Oracle Database 10g
On page 47 of the Administrator's Guide, the list of supported database versions should also include Oracle Database 10g. [#112039]
The same client used for Presentation Server 4.0 is supported for Resource Manager 4.0.
Citrix Presentation Server 4.5
The Oracle 10g Database is a supported database version for Presentation Server 4.5 and Resource Manager 4.5. Refer to following:
