Symptoms
In the Citrix License Activation System in MyCitrix, when trying to activate a license, instead of creating the activation code, the following error message appears:
“Error Code:10812 Description: Error while generating activation code. Please contact Citrix Helpdesk with the above error code.”
Cause
The entered license is not valid or is incomplete.
Resolution
For MetaFrame XP:
1. MetaFrame XP license codes (Version 5) consist of an initial part of five groups of five digits: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. When this code is entered into the MetaFrame Management Console, a unique machine code is generated and added to the License code: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-YYYYY-YYYYY. This code can be activated only once. If it is necessary to reactivate the license, a new machine code must be generated again.
2. Once a MetaFrame XP license code is fulfilled to a Presentation Server license, it cannot be activated again.
3. Ensure that the used MetaFrame XP license code has a new machine code attached.
4. Ensure that the used MetaFrame XP license code is not already fulfilled to a Presentation Server license.
For Presentation Server 3.0, 4.0, or 4.5:
Presentation Server license activation codes (Version 6) are delivered either by email or in an envelope. The code consists of five groups of five digits: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. The code must be activated initially to generate the license file, which is hosted and downloaded to the Citrix license server later.
1. The code was delivered in an envelope. The first four groups of the license activation code are printed on the outside of the envelope. The full license activation code is printed on a sheet inside the envelope.
2. The code was already activated. The activation of Presentation Server activation codes or licenses is only possible once.
3. The envelope was open at arrival. The code was activated before. Citrix Licensing Support must be contacted to investigate whom the license is registered to.
4. The license activation code was altered. Citrix Licensing Support needs to be contacted to validate the status of the license activation code.
5. Ensure that all five groups of the activation code were entered at the activation system on the MyCitrix Web site.
6. Ensure that a closed envelope was received and the license activation code was not used before.
