Citrix Symbian OS ICA Client for The Nokia 9210 Communicator Release Notes

November 2002

The 2.01.60934 client includes:

* Per-connection browsing. This feature allows you to use a protocol that is different from the default setting for a specific connection.

* Initial Panning Position Setting. This feature allows you to select the position of the panning screen when you start an ICA Client session.

* Initial Cursor State. This feature allows you to select the cursor mode (for example, mouse) to use when you start an ICA Client session.

* Customizable Window size. This feature allows you to specifiy a custom window size for ICA Client sessions.

The following is a list of known issues in the 2.01.60934 release of the Citrix Symbian OS ICA Client.

1. Sound not working.

Enabling sound will only produce a short beep in the Nokia 9210 Communicator, rather than the intended sound. Citrix recommends that sound is not enabled.

2. Starting up other Internet access disconnects the client.

It is possible for a running ICA Client session to disconnect in the background if you start other WWW or WAP application. This is due to a lack of available memory, and Citrix recommends that you do not start or run any other applications while running the ICA Client.

3. Memory limitations.

The ICA Client requires most of the available memory in the Nokia 9210 and 9290 Communicators. With these models, you should install the ICA Client to the External MultiMediaCard (Drive D). To maximise the amount of available memory for the ICA Client, you should also use the External MultiMediaCard if you need to install any other applications.

If the Communicator displays an Out of Memory dialog box when attempting to connect, check if there are any other running tasks on the menu task list. If there are tasks (other than those with ICA in their names) then choose "End task" from the task list and then try to connect again.

If no other tasks are running, try a smaller window size or 16 colors rather than 256.

4. Fully qualified DNS names.

If you type in a server name, rather than selecting it from a browse list, you must enter a fully qualified server name. For example, use"MyServer.Company.com" rather than just "MyServer".

5. Animated graphics in an Internet Explorer web page causes the Communicator to freeze.

Citrix recommends that animations and videos be turned off in Internet Explorer, as they can overload the ICA Client.

For Internet Explorer 5.5, choose Tools > Internet Options, then select the "Advanced" tab. In the Multimedia section , clear Play animations, Play sounds and Play videos.

6. The Use Alternate Address setting with HTTP browsing is fixed in this release and now works correctly. You can use this option to connect to servers and applications inside a firewall.

For connections that you created before this change, the setting for Use Alternate Address may be incorrect. If you see the error panel "Not Found" with a connection that previously worked, then try clearing the Use Alternate Address check box in Browser Configuration.
