Follow the steps within each utility listed below:
In User Manager for Domains:
? Create a global group called NIS Logon.
? Create a new user called nisuser and add the user to the NIS Logon group.
In the NIS Account Manager:
Make sure that the proper NT domain is selected at the top.
Authentication Tab:
? Check the Use NIS for logon authentication. box.
? In the Domain name text field, put in the NIS domain name.
? In the Server name text field, put in the IP address of the NIS server (or qualified DNS name).
? In the Group drop down list select the NIS Logon global group.
? Don't check any other boxes (leave the other two blank).
? Then click the Save button to save the settings.
Connection Tab:
? In the Network section, check the Use Network box.
? In the Domain name field, put in the NIS domain name.
? In the Server name field, put in the IP address of the NIS server (or qualified DNS name).
? Then click the Execute button.
Import Groups Tab:
? Select the NIS group(s) you want to add to NT.
? Then click the Import button.
Import Users Tab:
? Select the NIS user(s) from the NIS group(s).
? In the Template: drop down box, select nisuser.
? Then click the Import button.
Back in User Manager for Domains:
Un-check the Account Disabled box for each imported NIS user.
